A:  All Presto hot air poppers operate by weight. If there is not enough weight in the chamber, the hot air will blow out unpopped kernels. Note: Some varieties of small and lighter weight kernel popcorn are not recommended for use with hot air poppers. A:  I doubt it is stainless at this price.

A:  No on/off switch. I agree, not safe. I was disappointed to discover, but decided to keep as there are no young children in my home. Home Depot had the lowest price, as other retailers were charging $10+ more for this yellow one.

A:  All of Presto® popcorn poppers are manufactured without an on/off switch. Your popper has been approved by Underwriter Laboratories and is within their guidelines for safety. A:  Presto products are manufactured in China. However, the design, marketing, sale, and distribution are all done in the US. Quality is very important and product inspections are done on sample lots during the manufacturing process in China and in the US. A:  You only add corn kernels to the fill line in the popper. No oil or butter. You may use the butter cup on the top to melt the butter. You can also find the complete user instruction on the Home Depot website using the description above and scrolling down to the Product Overview section and clicking on the link "Use and Care Manual" which will give you the complete use and care instructions.

A:  We only use popcorn kernels with the Poplite, and then only Orville Redenbachers. Never cook more than 1/4 a cup of kernels at a time. Never put oil or butter in the Poplite.

A:  According to Presto this polycarbonate plastic does contain BPA. For more information about this product and its manufactured process contact Presto directly.

A:  It doesn't specify that, but the interior is metal. The yellow scoop is for measuring the amount of popcorn and melting the butter. It is probably 'food grade'. I don't use butter so it doesn't bother me if it isn't. But it is very good plastic. I did read a review on another site that said it is NOT bpa-free. The POPLITE home page does not have any indications of any harmful materials, including the spec sheet and user manual. As it does not specify BPA-FREE then it probaby has BPA.

A:  No clue, I had mine shipped and would dream of returning this chaos machine.
