A:  Must have been a misprint or something because I have no issues with anything from 1/4 to11/2.

A:  I am thinking the 1 1/2 inch staples were with it but it has been a while since I bought it.

A:  I don't know what happens but I had same problem and returned it to Homedepot for exchange for another one and no longer had issues. They are lifetime warranty if you registered it.
