If your window is only 48", the shade does not have to be pulled down the full length, it can rest at the window frame and the material will stack on itself. A:  Hello there, our Easy Lift shades are available in only a no tools adhesive installation. We do not offer shades that come with brackets. You can also install these shades as an outside mount by turning the shades 90 degrees and installing the adhesive directly to the wall above the window. The shade will cascade down quite nicely. A:  It is not a "black out" shade, but you can't see out of it from inside, and I expect that the most you sould see from outside would be faint shadows
