Q:Can I remove the top rail & use velcro to adhere to the top in order to cut the length for an 8” H transom?

Answer This Question
A: Hi there, our Easy Lift shades are not meant to have the top or bottom rail removed as it would not fully function without either. You can use velco on the top rail to adhere it to your desired surface, but we do not recommend removing it. RS Customer Care.

Q:My windows are 48" high. The shade is listed as 60". Does that extra length take up much space at the top when the shade is opened? How does it lay when closed - is there "extra" left bunched at the top?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Bob, thank you for the great question. Our 30" Easy Lift will cover 2" of the window when in the open position. If your window is only 48", the shade does not have to be pulled down the full length, it can rest at the window frame and the material will stack on itself. Please let us know if we can help with any other questions. Redi Shade Customer Care

Q:I want this shade, but I want the style that attaches with brackets. Can you provide the correct part number?

Answer This Question
A: Hello there, our Easy Lift shades are available in only a no tools adhesive installation. We do not offer shades that come with brackets.
You can also install these shades as an outside mount by turning the shades 90 degrees and installing the adhesive directly to the wall above the window. The shade will cascade down quite nicely.

A: It is not a "black out" shade, but you can't see out of it from inside, and I expect that the most you sould see from outside would be faint shadows

A: When I removed mine it took the paint with it.

A: Hi there, as long as the wood frame is not freshly painted, and you gather the pleats up at one side and gently peel it away there should be no damage or marks left.
