                    by|Feb 16, 2021

A:  Denny = Can I use a Power Vent, since my exhaust = horizontal? a) - DEPENDS... b)- These have maximum distance limitations.... the majority of Installations mandate that DHW Heaters w/ Power Vents be next to the exterior wall in question, NOT 'piped' for an extended horizontal 'run.' c) - Alternatively, One might consider a "Condensing" Water Heater, wherein the incoming air supply AND discharge exhaust are both of Schedule 40 PVC piping, running much greater horizontal distances.

                      Answer This Question

A:  This heater has been PROBLEM FREE for some time now, after the rebate from the gas company it made the price close to the cheaper models. be smart and factor that into your decision to purchase it. My older unit had a blanket on it to reduce heat loss this model it is not needed. I cant feel any heat loss by touching the sides of it when in use. I also recommend the use of a water recirculation kit because it reduces wasting water at the shower waiting for the hot water to start. It also warms the floor were the pipes run. depends where your pipes are roughed. The recirculation can be turned off in the summer and is controlled by a timer to match your hot water needs. This heater is electronically monitored and controlled flashing led indicates its status, the burners are a lot louder than older model but it heats faster and has lowered my gas bill.

A:  No problems for the install at my home. Check the height of the area being installed and need a dedicated outlet for the electric ignition system.

A:  I purchased and installed this unit almost 4 years ago for a 1.5 bath ranch and have not had any issues with it. I have always had hot water when I wanted it. If it has Wi-Fi compatability, I have not used it, so I cannot comment on that feature.

A:  I bought the hot H2o heater about 2-3 years ago. I have had no problems with the water heater. One consideration to consider is it has a flap in the flue that runs on electricity. You must have an electrical outlet within the specified length of the cord to plug in the ac to dc adaptor. And if you are in an area the has electric outages on a regular basis the water heater will not work.
