A: Hi Sandy, you can use a miter saw that has a blade that is made for cutting plastics and veneer.
You also can use a miter box and a fine tooth hand saw or a back saw to perform the cuts.

A: depending if it will be visible makes a big difference; a 'japanese style pull saw' with fine teeth works great if you will see the miter, else a hacksaw/bandsaw is ideal.

A: It's for (mostly) VERTICAL corners! ;-) (Another HD type-o I guess calling it "base"). It's not needed for drywall since cornerbeads are used (unless you want to put it on top the cornerbeads for 'bump' protection). It would mostly be used for vertical corners where paneling walls meet for a nice 'finished' look. Of course it could also be used horizontally for any kind of trim.

A: it's meant to wrap around a wall corner around an 8 ft tall 4 ft wide panel. the cross-section is the 'top view' if installed as described above.
