Q:Can I add the decorative chips to the clear coat?
by|Oct 9, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We actually do not recommend directly applying the deocrative chips to the Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Premium Clear Coating. This will cause the clear to look clumpy and not provide the best finish. Instead, apply a layer of the clear, and gently broadcast the decorative chips into the floor, following up with another coat of the clear. We hope this helps! - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1

Q:I have applied the Rust-Oleum Epoxy in my garage 7 days back. My contractor then worked to apply the paint in my garage walls. After they are done with the walls, Can I pressure wash my epoxy floor before I apply the Rust-oleum clear coat?
by|Sep 8, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out! Once our EpoxyShield Premium Clear Garage Floor Coating has cured for at least 7 days, it is fine to mop the surface with a detergent and water. We do not recommend pressure washing the surface, since it is possible to damage the coating if too much pressure or too narrow a nozzle is used. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Answer This Question
A: Great question, Brian! Yes, a second coat of Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Clear Coating can be applied. If more than 3 days have passed since the previous coat, the floor will need to be scuff sanded with 60/80 grit sandpaper on a pole sander to ensure full adhesion. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any dust prior to applying the clear.
