We do not recommend applying Stops Rust to this surface as the full water immersion will cause the finish to blister and peel. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

          A:  Happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray Paint can withstand indirect temperature exposure up to 200°F. Exposure to hotter temperatures will cause the coating to blister and peel. This paint will also require the use of a primer on plastic surfaces, such as Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer Spray.
