A:  Hello! Thank you for contacting us here at Safavieh! In regards to your inquiry, we do recommend investing in rug pads to prevent slipping and sliding over a tile surface!

A:  You would probably need some type of pad gripper or it will slide all around unless you have heavy furniture on top of it.  If you do then it should be fine.  Don’t think it would damage tile, but it wouldn’t be as soft & cushy without one.

A:  Regular carper steamer

A:  I have been fortunate in that I have only had to vacuum since it is almost cheaper to buy another rug that have it cleaned. On others I have used spot cleaners purchased at the local grocery.

A:  I’m thinking about taking it outside on the driveway& washing it down with the water hose & Dawn. Or to a laundromat to use their huge washers & dryers.

It is recommended that only a professional rug cleaner should undertake a complete overall cleaning and your rug should be professionally cleaned only if it’s a deep stain. Cleaning companies use a special shampoo that goes into the fibers. Please reach out to other professional rug cleaning companies nearest you, and ask questions. You want to give them as much information about your rug as possible such as the fiber content, backing, and overall size of your rug. All this information is on the back label of you rug, and remember be specific.
