A:  Excellent question...and honestly, I do not know. I will tell you that I recently installed this lock and handle set and LOVE it. It works seemlessly with my iPhone 7 Plus that has iOS 10 installed. I can (and do) tell Siri to "lock (or unlock) front door" and it is done. I have it set up to notify my phone when the desired action has been accomplished and I get a text message from the Schlage app when these actions have been accomplished. Hope this helps. A:  If you have a current AppleTV or HomePod it works as a bridge to the internet. This let’s you control the lock and get texts on status from anywhere in the world. If you don’t have those devices you can only use your phone when connected to you local WiFi.

A:  It has regular batteries in it like you would use in a flashlight. Batteries don’t like freezing weather but these are located on the interior side of door so I would think they would be ok
