A: Hello, The Rib Tubing Diameter is 1.5" (in). Hope this helps!
A: The tubing is 1 1/2” in dia.
A: The storage is approx. 3ft high.Overall, it is just over 3 1/2 ft tall and holds approx. a fireplace cord of wood.JB
A: No, it is not 3 feet high.
A: Yes. I just physically measured the height from the top of the base to the top of the side post.
A: Hi Lee, The height measures 46.6". Hope that helps!
A: I used mine outdoors. I don't see why you couldn't use it indoors if you have the room. the cover is used to keep the rain off the wood.
A: Hopefully this will answer your question contrary to web description; I purchased mine from HD about 3 years ago and placed it outdoors by the fence line. It is doing great! The cover has faded some due to the south Texas heat. One recommendation is to elevate it with bricks or flat stones, just enough to prevent rust forming at each leg. Again, mine has done great outdoors for about 3 years.
A: I suppose you could put it anywhere you want to. But I recommend putting it outside because of all the wood you're going to stack on it you might get some unwanted bugs. The cover is to keep the wood dry if you're keeping the rack outside. Get yourself a small basket that's designed for firewood and keep it next to your fireplace. But I don't recommend as I said keeping that big 8-foot Rack in your house.
A: I put one in my garage so the firewood that was split in the Spring would be dry for Winter. However I wouldn’t put it in my house as there are often bugs that hide in the split wood.
A: Hi Jacob, We are sorry about this. This is an 'outdoor' product. Thank you for bringing this up to our attention, we will get this modified as soon as possible.
A: Yes, this is for indoor.
A: It measures 10 inches from the ground to the top edge of the rail that the wood sits on
A: Hi Ray, The space between the bottom of the rack and the ground measures 8.5". Thank you
A: Maybe six or so. Wood would be a couple inches higher.
A: I measure 9" between the ground and the bottom of the tubular horizontal member. But my rack is located on a slight slant, which I compensated for by placing small squares of 1/2" plywood under the lower legs -- so, to be on the safe side, call it 8 1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the rack.
A: There is 9 inches between the ground and bottom of the rack
A: If you mean you want a 90 degree bend in the middle, I don't think you can. The bottom is 4 hollow tubes that bend down to make the legs. If you try to assemble it two different parts, you would need a new bracket to connect the legs or it would be unstable.
A: No. The two middle leg pieces must bolt together in a linear fashion. They will not bolt together perpendicular to each other. You would be better off buying two 4’ racks and put them in the corner at a 90* angle.
A: Yes
A: No. It has to be assembled straight.
A: Hello, We would not recommend installing this in a 90 degree angle. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
A: No you don't get 90 degrees bends is all straight tubing
A: No, this model cannot be assembled that way.
A: Easy to pickup/maneuver when empty. Maybe 15-20 pounds.
A: Mine has wood on it or else I would weigh it but it is light and I can move it myself no problem. Sorry that is not the best answer but I thought it might help.
A: The weight is 26 lbs.
A: Hello, This package weighs 28 lbs. Thank you
A: Got mine over the summer and my cover is already faded nice rack hold the amount of wood I have just wanted the cover to stay black not fade to a grey color
A: After putting the firewood rack together, one person can carry it and move it. I would say no more than 10 pounds.
A: I bought mine a couple of months ago . it is not very heavy , I'm older and I put it together my self it holds a lot of wood. been thru hurricane force winds still standing
A: Hi Clay, This Firewood Rack and cover has an open air design meant to maximize airflow and provide ventilation to accelerate seasoning. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to call us at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
A: This cover is not intended to keep the wood 100% dry, but to allow air movement to prevent mold and rot. If you want to keep the wood totally dry you must store it inside. Mike
A: Yes the wood would get wet. The cover is not great anyways. It does not stay put very well. I am actually going to throw the cover away because it’s pretty worthless in my opinion. Hope this helps.
A: The outer edges of the bottom-most rows of wood gets wet with weather, but we pull wood from the top layers for burning. The lion's share of wood seasoning still occurs for the bottom layers, even though these logs might get wet on their edges, because the top keeps snow and rain from dripping through the pile.
A: It covers about 2 feet down, enough to keep a reasonable amount of wood dry, assuming it doesn't rain every day.
A: with velcro
A: Attaches with velcro. It is slotted and the ends wraps around so it fits whatever amount of wood is on the rack. Issue I had was getting wood out from underneath the cover since it slides down. AND, if the wood is too long, it takes length from the cover and the velcro will not reach. AND, since there is no center member, I had to span the lower cross brace with a couple 2x6 on their side to keep the wood from falling down between the tubes. So I cut the wood just long enough to rest across the tubes which turned out to be a wee bit too long for my Enviro wood stove. Doing it again, I might have put a plywood platform on the tubes and been more careful to remove an even layer of wood at a time. That would help with the ease of snow removal too. It is very sturdy and the best location might be under a significant overhang to take the cover out of play.
A: The cover has heavy duty Velcro on both ends and they tighten nicely over the rack. You pull from both sides and secure on the Velcro panel in middle of that section so it’s over the poles of the rack.
A: There are velcro tabs on both ends that close the ends like an envelope. You can fasten loosely or tightly. Still, i put a few pieces of wood on top just in case. Does a good job of keeping the wood pile dry and looks neat.
A: It has VELCRO on each side, so perfect because it's adjustable! & it fits snug around the wood!!
A: Great idea! It's possible
A: you might be able to attack wheels but I wouldn't even try. it is made to stay in one place
A: Hello, We do not recommend mounting this to wheels. Thank you
A: I would imagine you could but it wouldn't be worth the effort
A: No
