A:  Generally a 8/4 less than 50ft the max amp you would want flowing through the cable is 40 amps (4.8Kw) peak with a continuous load of 80% of that (32A or 3,840w). For lengths greater than 50ft however a 30A (3600w) peak or continuous 25A/3000w load.

A:  Yes, this wire is rated for up to 600 volts, and at 50 amps. My generator makes 12000 watts, and this is the correct cord for that application.

A:  I would call home depot. Looks like someone coded an error into the website (my opinion). Since the whole spool is 289ish dollars and 75 ft is about 60 dollars less

A:  The outer diameter is just over 3/4 of an inch, 0.780 inches. You would need to measure the device to be sure but it is substantially larger than a half inch in diameter.

A:  The four leads are all fine stranded, probably 30+ strands per lead... Benefit: This helps for flexibility if you needed to wind it around sharp bends like I had too... Caution: If you want the confidence of non-stranded current load benefits (solid copper), you might want to look at other choices! Food For Thought: Myself, I went with a higher load rating power cord than I actually needed, and enjoyed the amazing flexibility! (You will be totally surprised about the flexibility too, if you follow my Over-Rating advice:-)
