Q:What torque should the nut be after replacing the blade on echo edgers?

        Answer This Question

A:  I don't have a torque wrench, but I just tighten them down... never had an issue of them loosening or even coming off.

        by|Apr 4, 2023

A:  There is no specific torque setting for the nut when replacing the blade on the Echo edger. Tighten the nut snugly until you reach the point where the cotter keyhole through the shaft aligns with the keyhole in the nut without overtightening. Then insert and set the new cotter key by spreading the cotter key ends. Now you are ready to use your new blade!

          by|Apr 6, 2023

A:  I will be honest since I did not own a torque wrench until recently; I just tighten the nut fairly snuggly, to help pressure the retaining washer, and then install the pin.

A:  Hi there! Thank you for your inquiry. ECHO has not tested the Edger Blades on other manufactures products. ECHO is unable to confirm if the blades will be compatible on other products that are not ECHO products. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Echo straight edger PE 225 (Dec 2015) Blade replacement
I would recommend and give this 5 stars all the way, of course this is the first edger I have own, and first time replacing the blade. I have attached photos of the edging job that I have done since Jun 2016. Bought this at the Home Depot 76548 zip about Jun 2016, it was in the refurbished section. From what I have read, most people say they don't get but a year or so. I made mine last for at least Six Years. Had to almost have my straight pole up in the air, but, I squeezed as much as I could out of that original blade.

The blade is made to be easily replaced and put into use with a minimum of down time.

Best blades in the market. They last longer than expected.

It fit, it’s cheap and it works. These blades need to be changed out frequently because they wear quickly. A worn blade just doesn’t do the job.
