A:  I DID call Customer Service. The representative (Kim) just kept repeating specs to me. He could not answer why this product was worth twice the money of others. Also the spare parts search on the site does NOT work!! customer service is TERRIBLE!!

A:  Well I won’t know, I was only doing ash, and maple, but it works pretty good, just make sure you have Hydraulic fluid. I took it back last year, because it broke.. I think I was doing too much wood. I have an electric one.

A:  Not sure on Hickory but I’ve split Black Walnut with it.
