Q:Is it safe to use a 75 watt bulb instead of a 60?

    Answer This Question

A:  I would not do it, but you should call customer service at Sylvania and ask them.

    by|Jun 22, 2019

A:  That would depend on what wattage the socket you are putting the bulb in is rated for. If the socket is only rated for 60 watts then you would not want to use a 75 watt bulb.

      by|Jun 20, 2019

A:  No, it is not recommended to use a 75-watt bulb instead of 60-watts.

A:  This product is a long neck. The LN in the description will indicate that the bulb is a long neck.

A:  They are long neck as specified by the LN in the description.

                by|Mar 27, 2019

A:  I believe the "LN" in the part # PAR30LN refers to "Long Neck." The bulb measures ~4.5 inches from the face of the bulb to the bottom of the electrical contact point at the end of the base. My home uses > 20 of these bulbs in recessed ceiling fixtures. I source the replacement bulbs exclusively from Home Depot and have to say that they are not the longest lasting bulbs I have ever seen. Luckily, they come in a 6-pack! :-)
