A:  These items worked on a paver stone stair case when installing a railing. I would think it would work on natural stone as well.

Q:How long should this bit last? I've drilled 10 holes in cinderblock & progress has slowed steadily. Do I need a new bit already?

          Answer This Question

A:  Sounds like you are not using a hammer drill.  A hammer drill will make it last much longer, otherwise the heat will dull it faster

A:  Yes. I used a DeWalt drill and drilled into cinder block. No problems.

A:  Tapcon drill bits come with 2 different shanks. One has plain round sides that will work on a drill that has a Jacobs chuck, which has three jaws and fits round & hex shaped bits & drivers. The other has 4-sided shank, for only a quick-disconnect chuck.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Yes you can drill into a 2x4 with this bit, but your best choice would be a standard wood bit as this is a masonry bit for concrete, brick, etc. The wood bit will also give you cleaner drilled hole.

A:  I didn’t measure the drill but itself, but it worked perfectly with the recommended Tapcon fasteners.
