A:  David, These board should be installed with a minimum of 12 inches above ground.

A:  Kobe, Yes, shiplap should be installed directly onto vertically mounted wood furring strips. It is important to make sure all furring strips are properly secured and even with each other so the finished surface is even – without waves. Make sure that you follow National Fire Code when installing around a fireplace.

A:  Russ, Left unfinished, Thermally Modified Wood Collection wood will gray out if exposed to UV light. Due to the thermal modification process the product will gray out faster than other wood products. To preserve the natural, unfinished color, a high quality exterior penetrating UV sealant should be used and maintained according to the coating manufacturer’s instructions.

A:  Karen, These boards are stained in a various of different colors, if your looking for another color other than white. Also, we do offer a touch-up paint for these boards as well, if your just looking to touch-up a few spots. If there is a color that your wanting that you can not find, it would be recommended to purchase the natural boards and paint them to the color your looking for.

A:  Mika, This can be used in Sauna walls. This is especially popular as a sauna wall application in Europe.

A:  Backsplash, Thermally Modified is an exterior/interior cladding board. For projects that incur frequent moisture, a high-quality polyurethane sealer is recommended.
