A: Mike,
Thank you for your inquiry. USG would recommend the USG Sheetrock Brand 1/2 in. UltraLight Mold Tough® Drywall for the ceilings in the bathroom because of the high humidity in those areas. USG Sheetrock Brand 1/2 in. UltraLight Drywall can be used for ceiling applications. Both products comply with ASTM C1396, Standard Specification for Gypsum Board, for 1/2 in. gypsum wallboard and 1/2 in. gypsum ceiling board.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. USG Sheetrock Ultralight panels are approved for parallel or perpendicular installation on ceilings with 24 in. (610 mm) OC framing. Hope this helps.

A: When I used this product a year ago, it was very dry and not forgiving. I had some joists that were not 100% true and the rock would pop off the head of the screw. It's supposed to be able to handle 24 o/c. Mine were a little wider so I went perpendicular to the joists with the long side. I did have some seams crack through.
