Answer This Question

A:  No idea at this time but if you have it linked to Alexa, Samsung Smart Things, or Google, the remote isn't really needed.

by|Dec 10, 2020

A:  I'm not sure, but mine have lasted for two years so far. They are two AAAs, so it's easy to replace if needed.

by|Dec 10, 2020

A:  Thank you for your question. We suggest changing the batteries every year.

    by|Dec 10, 2020

A:  I have been using the remote with the included battery for over a year and it still works.

Q:Can I pair two remotes to the same fan? What if I have multiple fans?

      A:  it seems you can

      by|Dec 10, 2020

A:  Good point. Currently on this model, you can either pair multiple remotes to one fan using the "public" address setting (0). Or you can have multiple fans with different remotes in "private" address setting (1). The receiver firmware is currently configured to only have a single address slot. We cannot simply increase the number of slots without causing confusion for some users. But thank you for pointing out this usability challenge.

A:  Thank you for your question. We would recommend using one remote per fan. The remote and receiver can be programmed to different frequencies to ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan.

A:  Yes you can as long as they are all programed the same (the fan and remote)

A:  This should work with any fan and light as long as it is wired correctly and you have wireless internet.

          by|Nov 25, 2020

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, this remote is compatible with the fan referenced.

          by|Nov 30, 2020

A:  Yes, it should work fine. According to that fan's spec sheet, it is an AC motor fan. Also, the product photo shows a large canopy. So I expect this kit to fit and operate just fine. Note, if you have no light on your fan, you will need to leave a wirenut on the unused LIGHT wire (for safety), and then uncheck "Enable Light" option in Bond App > Device > Settings > Manage Light & Dimmer. Good luck! Thanks for considering a Smart by Bond product!

Q:I have 3 fans with this remote. How do I pair each remote to each individual fan? The remotes all activate ALL of the fans now, I need each one paired to each individual fan.

A:  Thank you for your question. The remote has a dip switch in the battery compartment of the remote. To set each remote to control one fan, please follow the instructions in step 1 of the installation guide. The installation guide is available for download from the "Info & Guides" section of the product page online. The pairing process is also covered in the installation video online (located with the alternate images, fast forward to the 10:04 mark).

              by|Oct 27, 2020

A:  the instructions instruct you to cut the power to the fan that is already paired so you can pair the next one. so if you have two of them already paired to remotes, you'll want to cut the power to those two while you pair the last one.

                by|Dec 10, 2020

A:  There are 4 little switches in the fan and in the remote, Set the switches in the fan and remote so they are the same. Example for first fan switch #1 up switch # 2,3,4 down in both the fan and remote. Example for second fan, Switch #1 down, Switch #2 up, Switch # 3,4 down in both fan and remote and so on. The switches are located where the battery is located in the remote and depends what fan you have where those switches are.

                by|Nov 25, 2020

A:  Awesome! Glad you've gone for 3 units! There's a switch under the battery cover labeled Zero/One. Move it to the One position on each remote control. You will then need to re-pair. Easiest way to do that is open the Bond Home app, go to Device > Settings > Manage Remotes, and hit "re-learn remote". You will then be instructed to hold the Power button for 5 sec to perform the pairing. If you have any issue, we can help at customerservice@bondhome.io.

                  Answer This Question

A:  No, and no. This is not a Hampton Bay product. Also, like other ceiling fan receivers, it will not work with any other remote control or dimmer switch. You can however use multiple remote controls to control the same receiver, though these remotes are not currently sold separately.

                  by|Nov 25, 2020

A:  Thank you for your question. No, this is not a Hampton Bay branded product and is not compatible with any other remote devices. The remote includes a receiver that must be installed in the fan to operate.

                          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. This remote is compatible with most downrod style ceiling fans. There are a few exceptions such as fans that have a built-in receiver or fans with DC motors. Without knowing which specific Hunter fan you are referencing, we can not answer with 100% accuracy. The remote requires the included receiver to be installed in the fan. To see the installation process, please watch the installation video located with the alternate images on the product page.

                          by|Oct 7, 2020

A:  Yes. It is not limited to any particular brand. Just make sure your fan has an AC motor and has a canopy (metal cover above the downrod that goes against the ceiling) that can fit a receiver.

A:  Short Answer: probably not. Firstly, This product works by replacing the remote+receiver you may already have, rather than controlling your fan via its existing RF receiver -- but that's simple, just replace the receiver. Secondly, fan image in the product listing you shared shows a low-profile canopy, which may not have the space to accept this receiver. All that said, electrically it is most likely compatible, it's just a question of physically fitting it into the fan in a safe way.

Q:Cana single remote control 2 fans wired in parallel on a single switch? I have 2 porch fans on single switch. They are wired in parallel. Could I add the remote to first fan on the switch leg and be able to control both fans with one remote? I don't need the fans to operate on separate speeds and they don't have light kits.

A:  Thank you for your question. No, the receiver for the remote is only rated to operate one fan. Installing with more than one fan may damage the receiver or cause operational issues with the fans. Each fan should have its own receiver.

                                      by|Aug 11, 2020

A:  The product is designed to operate just a single fan. You may end up overloading the controller by connecting it to two downstream fans. I'd recommend buying two receivers, and you can just use the same address so that one remote control can control both fans at once. Google Home and Alexa also support groupings, so that you can control with one voice command.

A:  Yes, as log as the receivers and remote are programmed the same.
