Q:Will one remote control 2 fans
by|Jan 17, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. Technically, yes, if both fans have the same receiver and all of the dip switch settings are set to the same settings. We do not recommend using one remote to control multiple fans as that can lead to performance and operational issues. We recommend using one remote per fan with each remote and receiver pair set to a unique dip switch setting so that each remote only controls the intended fan.

by|Jan 18, 2023

A:  You would need two of the control boxes one for each fan but you could set it so that both fans/remotes respond to the same signals

        Answer This Question

A:  Since it replaces the entire fan control it will work with your fan as long as you check voltages on the fans current controller to ensure they match the new controller

A:  Thank you for your question. This remote should be compatible, but please note that it will replace the original remote and receiver included with the Kaplan fan. The included receiver will need to be installed in the fan (replacing the original receiver. The remote will not be compatible with the Kaplan's original receiver.

A:  Its universal, it works with with any fan. Its has a system called bond bridge. You can look it up. I have three of them and they work well.

Q:What are the dimensions for the RF reciever? I need to install it in the canopy housing of the slope kit for my high ceiling. Do you have to connect this through wifi or an app to work or can I simply use the remote until I figure out the "smart" feature.

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The receiver is 4.4" long x 22" wide and about 1" tall. It can typically be installed in the mounting bracket on a sloped ceiling with a maximum angle of 20 degrees. If the slope is greater than 20 degrees, you may need a 45 degree canopy kit like model #82735 to ensure proper fit.

Great Smart Remote Control that works with Google
Installation and set up was a breeze. Make sure you have good WiFi coverage in the rooms you are installing them in. There are tons of WiFi apps out there you can use on your phone. I installed the remote antenna inside the base and flush mounted the WiFi antenna to the base of the ceiling fan. The room is a 20 x 20 master bedroom and the remote as well as Google Assistant response time is pretty fast. I would say sub-second response time. I have ordered 4 more of these for our other rooms with ceiling fans. I'm glad they came back in stock. They were out for quite a while.

Excellent product!! Great idea!! Works with LED bulbs!!! No too sure how long this company has been making apps, but while doing the setup everything went great until I finished, and did not have any devices available to control. A quick call to customer service and they started having me redo the process, at which point I had inadvertently "refreshed" the screen/app homepage and my celling fan controller was there!! I'm sure completely closing the app and reopening would have gotten the same results. I'm running 2 fans off of the same controller with no issues!! Occasionally though, when using the remote that came with the unit, I will select medium 2, and the fans "appear" to be running much slower, possibly on low setting, they will stay like this until I either select HIGH using the remote, or open the app and change the fan speed off of medium 2 and then back again, at which point it will work. I've added the app to my Google Home, and can control lights (with dimming) from within the Home app, but when using the Google Home app you cannot change fan speeds, you can only toggle on/off and it will just run at whatever the last.speed setting was. This has been a long rant, but hopefully it will help people to decide whether to buy it or not. That being said, I think it's a great product and would recommend it to anyone!!

                      Horrible experience
I purchased a new Hampton Bay ceiling fan for master bedroom and installed this Smart By Bond receiver. I’ve had nothing but problems with WiFi when attempting to control the lights, fan speed, or anything using the Bond mobile app. I’ve been in communication with Bond Support for the past week and we have tried everything. The setup is easy but this device obviously broadcasts a signal causing issues with other connected devices in my home. I have tried enabling my guest WiFi on my new Netgear NightHawk WiFi 6 capable router and although it paired up to the 2.4GHz WiFi, this device is not consistent. Had I known more, I would have spent the extra $50 for the Black Bond Puck device instead. I work in Technolgy and with computers/networks every day and have never had a device cause major network issues like this device. I want to return this until for a full refund ASAP!

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we're happy to hear that the installation and set up were easy. We're sorry to hear that you had connection issues. This is not a normal occurrence with this remote. If the firmware has been updated during set-up, the issue may be the receiver. Please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678 and one of the team members will be able to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue. They will also be able to send a replacement receiver if needed.

                        Delay when getting power on
So when turned on, on the switch, getting power, there is a delay like a second, kinda annoying. Just like the other reviewer, he also get the delay. I know some smart item like this are just like relay but boy this relay kinda slow. I dont know if it just mine, I got the item together with the ceiling fan but it came with box that is like someone open it already, it even has missing screws. I bought another one, its incoming, let see if this one act like the one I just installed. If not I will definitely replace this one.

This is not your standard ceiling fan remote. It's compatible with smart home systems (Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings [Samsung] ) and this separates it from other systems you can get. Install was straightforward but you've got to do the same with this as you would with any other and that is squeeze it in between the mounting bracket and the fan assembly. Not difficult but it can be a challenge. This system is no bigger than the ones included with most ceiling fans. You MUST ensure the remote antenna is not covered or blocked but, also, don't leave it dangling either. The remote works well and syncing it to your particular system is accomplished following your system (Alexa, Samsung, etc) specific instructions. The remote itself is pretty straightforward. LEDs light once you activate a button and indicate what function is on (speed, light, etc) and the remote has 2 built in magnets so it can easily stay with it's wall mount when not using it. A good remote and good addition to smart homes.

I am putting up a new fan in my bedroom. I am getting older so wanted a remote so during the night I don't have to keep getting up and down to control the fan. I like this one because you can control it with your cell phone or remote that comes with the fan. All you do is down load an app and follow the directions and it is easy to use your phone. This remote is as easy to install as your fan since you put it in while installing the fan. My daughter is doing the work since I can't climb a ladder anymore. The directions are clear and fairly easy to understand. The receiver that goes in the fan has a built in Wi Fi antenna. The remote has a bracket included that has a strong magnet to hold the remote when not in use. It comes with wirenuts and yes batteries for the remote are included.

Slowly my house is turning into a smart home, and the next step was to make my ceiling fan a "smart" device. I did not want to mess with the wall control switch, so this smart Wi-Fi control was my best option because it is installed on the fan and not on the wall switch. If you have experience with installing ceiling fans, attaching this smart Wi-Fi control should not be a challenge. Even with my flushmount ceiling fan against the ceiling, with which I had less room to work on, I was able to connect the receiver device to the fan relative quickly. All the wires from the receiver come with labels to remove the guesswork (also frustration) during the installation. After completing the wire installation and assembling the fan back on the ceiling, the rest was straight forward. The remote control had already come paired from the factory for convenience. Lastly, I downloaded the Bond Home app, created an account, and completed the app guided instruction. What I recommend/caution is to: 1) Turn on fan speed to the highest setting, and 2) Use dimmable bulbs. Since this control will make the light on the fan dimmable, the bulbs now must be dimmable. Be aware that most CFL and LED bulbs aren’t designed to work as dimmable. This product is excellent because it controls both the Fan speed and the light brightness with the handheld remote and the mobile app. Not only do I have 4-speed options for my fan, but I can also set it with a breeze mode (this makes the fan cycle through all speed settings at randomly) and as well a timer (1, 3, and 6 hr). This universal control will make any fan/light a smart device. Also, I was able to add the Bond Home app to my Google Home, so now I can control the fan/light by voice command. Overall, I am highly satisfied with this product, and I highly recommend to anyone who is making a regular house into a smart home.

YOW Universal Smart Wi-Fi 4-Speed Ceiling Fan Remote was received in about a week after ordering. A complete set of instructions was included with the controller which would have been impossible to install with out. This controller included two main parts, a transmitter and a receiver. The difficult part was installing the receiver inside the fan housing. This required removing the fan and light from the ceiling and wiring the receiver to the fan and light. Not something that I would recommend to someone with out some basic electrical home wiring. Upon completion the remote did what it was suppose to in that it would control the fan speed and light. The comfort breeze was a nice feature operating the fan. Don't know about the smart phone feature as I have not downloaded the app. Would recommend it to anyone that wanted a full function remote control for there fan.

First off I was a bit hesitant about installing a generic control for my fan on a fan that already had a remote, but this was a snap of a replacement. Actually changing out the remote module on my Harbor Breeze took about 15-20 minutes, just disconnected and connect the 5 wires. Syncing the remote with the fan took about 5 minutes, then getting the unit on the Bond App took maybe another 15 minutes or so. Everything went smooth and now I have a smart fan control for my living room. Good to note there is also a Bond Skill for Alexa so voice controls are an option. Only one downside to this is the magnetic holder for the remote. It's at a hallway and I have already knocked it off the wall twice, but I still have this 5 stars overall as this it not that big of a deal considering the functionality of this item.

The universal smart Wi-Fi four speed ceiling fan remote is perfect when you want to convert any traditional ceiling fan into WiFi. I actually install this in my sons room and it made it super easy for him just to go ahead and turn the lights on and also control the fan. FYI if you have just your basic toggle switch you will need to install the Another line so you could control it. If you’re not comfortable installing another electrical lines please do not try this. I can talk to your local electrician. Also make sure that you have enough space in the fan to hide the Wi-Fi control sensor.
