A:  VELUX has different flashing kits that are model and roofing material specific. The metal roofing kit is more comprehensive and more expensive than the shingle kit.

A:  The QPF 2246 2005 is not suitable for a tile roof as it is meant for a sloped, shingle roof application only. You can use the FCM 2246 0004 on a sloped, tile roof and the flashing kit needed for this application is ECW 2246 0000C and can be found on Home Depot's website through this link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/202892013

A:  I had mine installed !  It seems to work well with the sky light that was installed !  However I have regular shingles on my roof.  I think it’s up to the installer to make it fit just right.

A:  VELUX manufactures metal roof flashing for its deck-mounted skylights, but not the curb-mounted series. For the curb-mounted models, you will need to fabricate your own flashing.

A:  When using a curb mounted skylight on a standing seam metal roof, your roofer or installer will need to fabricate their own flashing for such an application. VELUX does not manufacture a metal roof flashing kit for its curb mounted skylight series.

A:  You can use VELUX curb mounted skylights on a metal roof. For such applications, you will need to fabricate your own flashing from the roofing metal panels to make this installation water-tight. VELUX does not manufacture metal roof flashing kits for this series of skylights.

A:  VELUX flashing kits are manufactured from aluminum and does not contain lead.

A:  This flashing kit is meant to be used with shingle, skakes or slate roofs.  Is this the one they recommend for your skylight?

A:  If you need a shingle roof flashing kit for the FS 306 model skylight, it is called EDL 308 0000A.This will be a special order item through your local Home Depot store for this precious generation skylight. A:  No! You would have to have a sheet metal shop fabricate different flashing. I have been a Building Contractor for 45 years. I have done exactly as you describe. Get proper flashings made and it will work fine.

A:  The only VELUX skylights that can be installed sideways are the fixed curb mounted skylight (FCM)and fixed pan-flashed skylights (QPF). All VELUX deck mounted and other units and flashing systems have a "true top" and are cannot be installed sideways. It will void warranties and not to  mention it will leak
