A:  The chain operator on a VELUX venting unit is 12" long. The venting skylights open approximately 11 3/4" inches.

    A:  Hello Teddy, VELUX solar powered skylights have a battery housed at the bottom interior of the skylight. The battery is connected to a solar panel located on the exterior of the skylight. The solar panel charges the battery. The skylight will come with a remote to operate.

          Q:Can I put rainX or a water repellant on my skylight?

          A:  We would not recommend any water repellant on the exterior pane of the glass. On the exterior pane we recommend soap/water, alcohol and ammonia-free cleaners. Our laminated glass has silicon dioxide on the exterior pane, which makes it exceptionally smooth. This allows the water to evenly disperse and evaporate quickly. This greatly reduces water spotting on the glass.

              A:  There are very minor differences between the older VELUX FS 106 model skylight to the newer version: FS C06 2004D. With that being said, the new unit will fit right into that existing rough opening.
