    A:  We offer solar powered room darkening and light filtering shade options for this skylight. Since it is a previous generation, the shades for this skylight are made to order. You would need to request a quote.

          A:  A high percentage of skylight installs are out of reach and lend itself to remote solar powered blinds. Within reach is still an excellent option for a solar blind and the VELUX KLI remote makes blind operation simple and efficient. Solar blinds also qualify for a potential tax credit. We certainly hope you reconsider the VELUX solar option. We appreciate your comments.

                  Q:We have a sunroom that gets extremely hot during the summer. Will the light filtering shades give enough protection from the sun or do we need to go with the room darkening? It kind of defeats the purpose of a sunroom.

                  A:  Light filtering shades will give some relief, but the room darkening shades will give more of it. This is due to the design (single pleated versus double pleated) and you can adjust the shades position during the hottest point in the day to give you most comfort.
