Q:I am installing two panels in an L shape to camouflage my outdoor central a/c compressor. Am I correct that I do not need post inserts? I just sink the posts into the ground with concrete in the holes?

Answer This Question
A: Great question, Cheryl! You are correct in that you do NOT need inserts for these posts. However, just so you know, the standard is 3ft in the ground so if you are using this post, it should be for the 3'H fence panels. I do hope this helps but if you need anything further, please feel free to give us a call at 855-224-9761.

Answer This Question
A: That would depend on what style of fence the posts are for. We custom route our posts to match or correspond with the rail size of the fence panel it is being installed with.

Q:I plan to install 4"Weatherable Chelsea square vinyl posts OVER 4" x 4" (nominal) wood posts that measure 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" actual size. Is the interior width of vinyl post wide enough?

Answer This Question
A: Great question, Peter! The 3.5" x 3.5" wood posts will fit in our 4x4 posts but keep in mind that our vinyl is of a commercial grade and does not require an insert and because we use a routed system, our posts simply slide into the holes/routes on the post and lock into place. Inserts can sometimes get in the way of the rails locking into place in which case you would have to notch out or shave away from the wood inserts so that the rails can actually lock into place. I do hope that this has helped but if you have any additional questions, please feel free to give us a call at 855-224-9761.

Q:I was stupid. I ordered two end posts when I should have ordered two corner posts. Am I able to just jigsaw out "mirrored" openings, or is there something additional that corner posts have?

A: Good question. You are able to route the holes in your post yourself using a dremel or jigsaw. Keep in mind that the more teeth on the blade, the smoother, neater cut you will be able to make. Remember......always measure twice, cut once! If you have any further questions, you are more than welcome to give us a call at 855-224-9761

A: Hello SS! While we recommend that the full length of the post is set in ground with concrete (36") some customers can not always reach that depth for every post and therefore would require a length adjustment. The posts can be cut from the bottom for a shorter length if needed. Please feel free to reach out if we can assist with your project! 855-224-9761 or hdhelp@weatherables.com

A: I have not shortened a post at this time however I'm sure you can. I will be trying just that. Cutting from the bottom and maintaining the desired in the ground cemented depth. Just remember to keep your fence rail (cutouts) in their pre-designated positions above ground.

A: Seth - We route the holes at the time of your purchase to match the Weatherables fencing you purchased either at the same time or in the past 3 years on Home Depot's website. If you need something specific to match please call us at 855-224-9761 and we can more than likely rout the post to your specification.
