A: The batteries are Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries, and I don't think they are replaceable. I do know that you can solder a lot of joints on one charge and if I need to do more at once I just put it back into the charging holder instead of the side stand, It has worked really well for me. I have had it for a few months with no problems of it not heating right up.

A: The battery is a single Samsung lithium-ion battery that is cylindrical in shape.and 3.7 vdc and 2.6 Ah. The cover opens up to expose it, but it is not a drop in battery, as the wires are soldered on. There are numbers on the battery but are not easily read due to a pad glued to it to secure it. It may take some research to find one if a replacement battery is needed. The picture may make it easier to understand.

A: You could search your files for the receipt or if you paid with a credit or debit card you could check those records. Might be a good time for you to get a Home Depot credit card so you never need to repeat this situation in the future.

Q:Does it get hot enough for stained glass projects?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Jodi, this soldering iron would not be recommended for stained glass soldering as it does not have the power (wattage) nor the thermal mass (tip) to be able to perform adequately in the stained glass market. We reserve tools like the W100PG and SP80NUS / SPG80 style of tools for stained glass due to their higher power and larger reserve capacity of the soldering iron tips.

A: It could work but will probably not hold heat for running any length of bead if using Tiffany method. There is just not enough mass to hold the heat and it is only 12 watts.

A: It would work best with small stained glass just do not know if you are doing large edges to solder, it does heat up just as good as a regular soldering iron to me. I am soldering brass and nickel with mine.
