A:  you will need to check the dimensions of the sink hole with the dimensions of the strainer and flange. Also, the garbage disposal needs to be the correct model for the flange.

A:  Yes, the coating can chip off if not properly cared for. This finish is susceptible to enhanced or fortified cleaners, de-greasers,Soft scrub, Dawn Dish Soap, cleaners with bleach or mild abrasives. Also, dings and knicks can start this chipping. We recommend a mild soap with a soft sponge. A light coating of canuba clear coat wax can also help preserve this finish

A:  Yes, coating chips off. Buy a different product.

A:  I purchased this drain and had it installed in my kitchen-- it is peeling after less than 6 months use, just as the others are showing. I contacted the manufacturer and they said it is because I use Palmolive dish soap which has a degreaser. I find it very hard to believe that a kitchen drain isn't expected to withstand one of the most popular dish soaps like Palmolive. I have a grate in my sink so the drain doesn't even come in direct contact with dishes, so it has been carefully cared for and still needs to be replaced. The manufacturer insists this is the case with all brand doing a black finish-- however, one of the other posts shows someone not having the same problem with another brand, so I am going to give the black another try but will not be using the Westbrass brand.

A:  Absolutely it chips, just after a month, large flaking of the powder coated black surface is coming off. I have a black sink and a gold faucet... all new, and now with a chipped up black and silver strainer. I must say I am extremely gentle with it, I got custom soft rubber, footed mats for both sinks to protect and prolong the integrity of my new sink, faucet and strainers.

A:  The Westbrass D2165-62 has a kitchen sink drain with strainer on one side, and a brass hanger for use with ISE disposals with a sink plug on the other side.
