Q:Can this be used over granite countertops?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Amanda, We appreciate your message and your interest. As decorative products, our films don't go through such tests. Therefore, we can't guarantee that our films will get the results you're looking for. We'd like to point out that the slides are due. There can be changes in temperature. A short time at 70°C won't harm the films. However, the temperature shouldn't rise above 40°C long-term. The processing of our films on countertops is at your own risk. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Best Regards, Your d-c-fix Team

A:  Hello Valy, Thank you for your interest in the d-c-fix vinyl film. The product has not been tested with a sealant so we do not have a recommendation. We suggest you test a small patch before applying anything to a completed project.

A:  Hello Tina, Thank you for your interest in d-c-fix films. It depends on the project. Best is to use the film on a flat surface: Below are instructions to use when applying the film: "Use a smoother tool to connect the two ends as close as possible. Below are some further instructions to help with your d-c-fix project: Place the film with the backing paper over the item you are going to cover making sure you have an even margin all the way round. Gently peel away the backing from one edge of the film and place the exposed film onto the edge of your surface (remember to leave a bit of overlap). Now with your cloth or smoother, press gently on the film and smooth along the edge, starting at the center moving outwards in each direction. Once you have the film in place on the edge it won’t move around so carefully get hold of the backing paper and pull gently with one hand whilst firmly smoothing the top of the film down with the other hand, always moving from side to side. The idea is to remove the backing paper and smooth the film down as you go. This enables you to check that the film is going down smoothly minimising the risk of rest of the film getting stuck down where you don’t want it to. It’s worth taking this bit very slowly or getting help until you are confident with what you are doing. It’s easy once you get the hang of it. If you make a mistake you can pull the film off and start again (unless you are sticking to paper or cardboard. Thank you"
