Q:Can this door be used for a pocket door or as a barn door?
by|May 2, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: This slab door can certainly be used as a pocket door or barn door. As the door does not come with any hardware attached and without any pre-drilled holes, there’s little work to do other than just make holes and mount the pocket door/barn door hardware on the door. Q:Are door jams included?
by|Nov 28, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: This door does not come with jambs, or hardware of any type included, and it does not have pre-made holes drilled or cut into it for hardware. This allows you to hang the door in existing door jambs, and use hardware from a previous door, or purchase any hardware of your choice. If building a frame for this door, please consider 36-in. x 80-in. to be the actual door dimensions; the door can also be trimmed in 1/4-in. on each side and 1-in. on the bottom if required. Feel free to send us an email to doors@eightdoors.com if you need more information.

Q:What r the widths of top and bottom rails. I need to cut the doors down
by|Oct 28, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We advise you not to cut more than our trimming allowance, which is 1-in. on the bottom, and 1/4-in. on each side. If you cut deeper than this, you may cut into the dowels, which will damage the door structure. That said, the dimensions on the top and bottom rails are as follows:
top rail = 15.26-in. (387.6 millimeters) width x 4.37-in. (111 millimeters) height.
bottom rail = 15.26-in. (387.6 millimeters) width x 9.17-in. (233 millimeters) height.

Q:Are the rails and stiles on this door solid pine or just the edges
by|Oct 5, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The rails and stiles have a solid pine wood core all through, not only the edges. A thin MDF veneer covers the solid wood core on both sides to add a smoother finish to the door. If you need more information, feel free to send us an email to doors@eightdoors.com.
