Answer This Question
A: Grow lights look purple cuz plants reflect/don't utilize green light. When you subtract green G from RGB (white) you're left with RB (red-blue) the light plants use. If you paint a light purple, you effectively block the green lite. But u use more power
A: This information is from the Toggle website for this LED grow light.
PPF 30.01 µMole/sec, PPF Efficacy 1.9 µMole/sec/Watt
PBAR 34.36 µMole/sec, PBAR Efficacy 2.1 µMole/sec/Watt
Hope this helps.

Q:I'm growing succulents (they require LOTS of sun), what strength or wattage do I need?

A: Most succulents are quite happy with whatever light they do receive, more will make them grow faster, but if you're trying to make one bloom/fruit, you probably do need a lot of light. Tubes are not usually too good for this because they diffuse light.

A: Non-shunted bulb single wire bulb. You can go to Toggled website and they have a video that shows how to remove the ballast and rewire your old fixture to a single wire (powered at one end only) setup.

A: These are double ended, so they will fit right into your existing fixtures, however these are direct powered from one end only, which requires you to remove the existing light ballast and rewire the fixture. Its really easy to do with the instructions included with the new bulbs that you buy. I would say that a reasonably handy person could do the rewiring without any trouble.

A: This is a single ended lamp. It can be directly wired, no ballast. You probably have to change 2 lamp receptacles to non bridged. (2 come each lamp).

A: Using lumens for grow lights doesn't make sense because of how lumens are calculated. I would suggest looking at the PPF number as that is essentially the grow light equivalent of lumens.

A: This will not work with a ballast fixture, you will have to rewire or buy a new LED fixture to use these bulbs. The bulbs will not work because that is not how they were made. The ballast uses more power so save your money.
I recommend you to do your research on YouTube so you understand why and how to do the conversion if you want to do it yourself.

A: Yes it will work, but you must remove the ballast and rewire power to just one end. Instructions on how to rewire, and required "headstone" comes with each bulb. I have rewired 2 four foot fixtures following the instructions and they work great!

A: You will need to rewire the fixture, remove the ballast and replace the "hot or powered end with unshunted sockets. If both sides of the socket are not connected you can use what you have (check for continuity). It fixture is much lighter without the ballast.

A: Yes, you will need to disconnect/remove existing ballast and rewire the fixture. The LED bulbs are direct powered from only one end of the bulb, however they fit into existing fluorescent fixtures perfectly. The rewiring is easy by following the included instructions that they give you with the new bulbs.
