Not as advertised
The bracket is held in cement block with what looks like a 1 1/2 inch roofing nail. The first slight pressure on the timber dislodges the timber from the pier.

    Perfect for a deck repair
Worked perfect to repair a deck. A 4x6 pier had rotted down into the footing causing that portion of the deck to sink. Jacked up the deck. Cut off the pier. Dropped the deck so the pier set fit nicely into the saddle. Bolted the saddle to the peer. This block made for a quick easy repair.!

    Excellent for low decks.
Got 18 of these to build two decks and they work great.

    NOT AS SHOWN
DO NOT BUY if you need any lateral shear stregnth. These used to be made with a long anchor bracket cast into the concrete (similar to the picture). Now the bracket is glued on with only a flimsy 1” concrete anchor in the center. Every one I attached a 4x4 post to broke free.

Not true to the picture. The bracket is shown as flush with the block. The selection at the store didn't have a single block that matched the item as pictured.

      Horrible Quality Changes
They now attach the bracket with a loose fitting swivel, making this totally useless for the type of installation I have used pier blocks for my whole life. I never thought to inspect before purchasing, I wrongly assumed that the bracket would be firmly anchored into the cement base. Worthless for most applications.

Though the block is nice and heavy, the metal stap that is attached came out of the concrete. It was 'nailed' in and not very secure. Though i was able to pound the nail back in, I was disappointed that the strap was not more secure.

It’s great value for money. However the product differs from the picture- the bracket is elevated above the block, not flush with concrete as pictured. I would have preferred a flush design.

The brackets on top of these blocks were loose to wobbly. We used a special glue to adhere the metal to the block and support the post attached to it. They should not do this at all!

Yep, it's a pier block. Price was the same as anywhere else. It does what it is supposed to do.

        bent metal. bracket poorly secured
The bracket comes with the sides bent outward , and bending them inward bends the bottom of the plate, so it’s curved. the process of doing this then loosens the single small bolt they have holding the plate down to the concrete, so that your post will dangerously wiggle and wobble.
