If you have a small wall sheetrock repair these steel drywall repair clips or the perfect thing to get the job done. Most repairs are always way from a stud in the wall. these clips allow you to square up the hole an make easy install for the patch. It's a matter of sliding the clip over the sheetrock edge, screwing it in and then putting the patch over the clips to screw in. just tape and mud.

These are ultra-convenient and they just work. It's so simple. You can do repairs like this using scraps of 1x3 lumber or similar, but it's a pain. These are already the right size and they come with short drywall screws, just long enough to screw in the clips. You can see exactly how to use them in my step-by-step photos with captions. The only thing to be cautious of is, don't break off the metal tabs until after you've screwed them in! Those metal tabs are the only thing holding the clip in place until it's screwed in. After that, you don't need them anymore.

This is an example of an ingenious invention that works exactly as described and fills a need that has been around since drywall replaced plaster walls. If you have a big hole in your drywall that needs patching, save yourself a lot of trouble and pick up a package of these clips. Basically, you put a clip on each side of the hole that needs patching, screw them in place with the provided screws, cut a piece of drywall to fit the hole, then screw the new piece of drywall to the clips, break the clips off, then finish off the seams. It couldn't have been easier. I used them to repair a hole in my kitchen ceiling and couldn't have been happier.

The dry wall repair clips are a great handy product. It works great for doing patch work. Instead of cutting it back to study to find a fastening point, these clip's slide right over the sheetrock and provide a solid fastening point. The clip slides over the edge of the sheetrock and are temporary held in place by two legs. Just put a screw or two into them through the sheetrock and then put your patch in place and fasten. Once all screwed off the tempory legs just snap off by rocking them back and forth a few times. Once that's done just tape and spackle as normal
I couldn’t get the screws to go through it to secure. They kept pushing back through and damaging the drywall around the hole.

Better for 1/2 drywall than 5/8 but even with that said had some difficulty hitting holes in metal causing multiple screw hole to get one to grab and properly secure drywall.

Don’t waste your money
Found that more often than not the screws put into the patch piece would simply bend the clip back and not engage. Looks good on the videos provided on line but in practice do not work consistently! If I could give it a zero I would have.

This is a really great repair tool for 1/2" drywall. No more need to install blocking to attach drywall patch pieces.. Easy, works as advertised, and saves time for our drywall & paint repair service contractors.

They're... Ok Sometimes
The main issue with these, while there a great concept, the apertures in the clip are way too small. The amount of torque and pressure it takes to drive the screw into unsupported drywall, which is this product's primary function, often breaks the drywall it's attached to. Bottom line, if the holes were bigger, it'd be a great product, otherwise, use a stick or a shim and screw into that. Patch with hot mud and finish with the plus 3. They work sometimes but can be frustrating.

Easy to use. Use the screws it comes with and screw in slowly to ensure that they grab!
