I’ve had it a week and put it right out in the weather mounting a historical Sign plate. Hoping for excellent results, it has good initial stick.

Crap. Used to mount a camera mount to a helmet. Say 12kg. Be surprised if it’s holding at 1kg. Absolutely useless.

This is not the first time, not the second time, but now the third time that this product has failed me. I own a sign & graphics shop and I rely heavily on a product that can keep signs up on a wall regardless of what the finish is on the wall. Clearly weight is not the issue as this is a so called heavy duty tape. I hung door number signs up at a hotel that are barely a couple ounces in weight and the next day the hotel told me that most of them were on the ground. I cleaned the surface with alcohol and let that dry and applied 2 rows of tape across the back, push the signs up and down to wiggle them on the surface so the tape would really grip the wall, and pulled on them to check and they were solid. Nope, hotel management called me to tell me most where on the ground the following day. As a business owner, this makes me look terrible and I cannot rely on a product that continuously makes me look bad. Something changed in the product. Do not waste your money.

I used this tape to secure out door lights under my pool rail!

pure junk. unfortunately I cannot get my money back for this since I had to use it to find out it was pure junk. I applied it pulled the backing tape off and all it was was foamy hardly any sticky to it at all. Shame on you Scotch.

Mounted a metal sign to my garage wall with this tape. Strong hold and easy to work with.

I bought this to hang a decorative shelf. I used all the roll on the back of the shelf except for about 3 inches. Shelf is maybe 10lbs tops. The shelf fell off in the middle of the night leaving peices that look like they melted. (I keep my house at 72° and 70° at night) I can't get it off my wall and it ruined my shelf. I followed all the instructions, it held for about a week and a half and now is just ruined.

I purchased the tape to hang 4 styrofoam sound diffusers from my ceiling. Each weighs 16 ounces. I used 3 times as much tape as recommended. Three of the 4 diffusers remained on the ceiling, the fourth would not stay, even with adding 50% more tape. I will try another brand for this last diffuser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to hand a curtain rod to so that I wouldn’t have to put holes in the wall. Didn’t work, now I have two ugly patches on the wall that I have to go buy paint for to fix. Do not buy, a waste of money

Seems to have excellent adhesion

Unbelievable product! It works great and is extremely strong. Love this double sided tape. I’ve used it for many years on commercial projects as a contractor for various things. I recent used three rolls to help hold down flat metal transitions over concrete. I had to drill and nail the metal down but I needed extra holding power. It worked great.

I use the extreme mounting tape for my security alarm business, mounting wireless window and door sensors to a variety of surface types. I never worry about this product failing to hold up as I haven’t had one failure in 100’s of applications. As an added bonus, I used the extreme mounting tape to mount my front license plate. I couldn’t remove the screws holding the existing plate in place, and didn’t have time to drill them out. So I applied mounting tape to the top, bottom, and sides on the back of the new plate and placed it over the old plate. The tape has held up to the challenge with no issues. I live in upstate NY. Plenty of snow, salt, and cold temps, and I haven’t been disappointed.

I started using this to attach lumber to my CNC machine when cutting and routing projects. All it takes is 4 or 5 (1) inch squares to hold the work firmly in place, even if the spoilboard is a little dusty.

I used the tape to attach stair runners. Worked excellent. The 11 yards was exactly enough to attach all 12 steps.

We used this to mount letters to a painted wall. This product is just the right thickness to cover imperfections and thin enough for a close fit. If a mistake is made a Fast and easy way to remove tape is to use a thin wire between wall and letter to cut the tape. Once exposed it can be rubbed with your thumb to remove with no residual. Strong adhesion instantly so make sure your object is where you want it.

Very sticky and easy to apply. Taking the white backing off the tape is hardest part!

I used the 3M Extreme Mounting tape to hold 150 lb, 81" X 31" glass panels to a wall. I used Loctite adhesive on back side of the panels and the mounting tape's holding power allowed the Loctite adhesive to dry for 24 hours per instructions with bracing in place to hold panels safely in place. The 4 panels stayed in place for a successful project!

I have used 3M brand mounting tape since the 1970's. Great product, just prep your mounting surfaces properly by remove any contaminants, dirt, grease, oil etc., and be sure both surfaces are dry. I use isopropyl alcohol to clean the surfaces then apply the tape. I recently built an addition on my home and didn't want to drill any holes in the window trim or frame, so I used the tape for inside mounting of the blinds on Andersen double hung windows.

The tape was easy to use. Not messy. Initial bond strength excellent. The proof will be in its longevity, which remains to be seen.

I found that the tape will fail if conditions aren’t just right during application. I had a couple of failed attempts before I figured out a reliable way to apply it. Both surfaces need to be extremely clean and dry. Make sure surface is room temp, and you can warm the tape a bit with a hairdryer right before applying it. Apply to the smaller surface first, and use firm pressure for a minute or so to really make it bond, especially along the edges. moderate heat is your friend!

Wonderful adhesion. During storage the sides are so sticky they attach to my drawer.
