Answer This Question

A:  Hello - Thank you for asking. Very hot or cold temperatures and high humidity can contribute to reduced performance of the adhesive. Application temperatures vary for different types of tape, but most tapes will work well when the surface temperature is between 10°C and 37°C (50°F to 98.6°F.) If you have any additional questions or concerns, please connect with our team directly at 1-800-494-3552 Mo-Fri 8am-4:30pm CT.

A:  If you mean width, this particular tape is 1.88 inches, just about the perfect width to make an edge and keep a roller from marking up beyond it like skinnier tapes would.

A:  Good tape, easy to make a.sharp line and just wide enough to keep a roller from going over it on edges.

A:  I would removes the tape within a few hours after painting, before the paint dries completely. Otherwise when you pull the tape off, some of the paint on the wall may come off with it. Also, If any paint bled under the tape, you still have a reasonable chance to clean it off.

A:  The ScotchBlue(TM) Original Multi-Surface Painter's Tape 2090 has a 14 day clean removal period. We do recommend testing the surface to ensure that it will remove properly. It is not recommend for use on or with lacquer, wallpaper, unpainted wallboard (drywall), or wood floors.

                    Never buying again
I recently painted over a wall that was very brightly colored. It took 3 coats of primer to cover it, then I followed with two coats of paint. I allowed proper drying time on all coats, and allowed it to cure at low humidity for a few days before moving on to the next wall. I taped up the cured wall to paint the next one, and when I removed the tape it pulled off the coats of paint and the primer to reveal the original color! This has put me behind in my project, and has created significantly more work for me. Next time I will buy something better quality.

                      Great for clean paint edges
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this product for free by 3M to review. I needed to do some drywall touchup, then paint over it. I put up some of this tape then did a couple layers of mortar, then a couple layers of paint. I had a great piece of mind knowing this tape would keep the other surface clean. After everything was dried this came off pretty easily. Overall it made the job much easier and quicker.

                            Very disappointed
Quite literally the worst tape I’ve ever used. Painted the trim and taped up our floors, tape ripped the paint right off when removing it from the floor. Very disappointed

                                Doesn't work
I used this tape to prevent the paint I was using from getting on the trim because I didn't want to paint the trim. I made sure all the edges were firmly pressed down. It didn't work. Now not only have I wasred my money and hours of my time on tape, I have to go buy some other tape and trim paint and waste a whole day painting trim. Very unhappy.

                                  What a waste of time
I built a guest house and painted the walls with Behr flat paint 10/20/22. Five days later after the paint had thoroughly dried, I taped off the trim and painted it. After about a day I removed the Scotch blue painters tape and the paint underneath came along with it. This is just painful. Never again.

                                    Terrible product!Excellent at removing paint
By trying to save a little bit of money. I purchased his tape to paint my trim myself after hiring a professional to do the walls in my house. They were painted and possibly 30 days before I ever applied the tape to make sure that the paint had cured well enough. After approximately 3 days of painting my trim that I'd use the tape to achieve fine lines on I began removing it only to find that it was pulling the paint back off the walls that I just paid someone to do. I'm highly disappointed it would not recommend this for anyone.
