We installed the new seal and it still leaks. We followed directions, removed old seal and installed new one. It was good for 24hrs and started leaking. We removed it a second time, cleaned everything and reinstalled with same result.

I never even opened the package as I realized the top tank of the toilet was cracked. A factory flaw from what I gather. Had to junk toilet and by a new one. Will never buy another American standard had nothing but trouble from the start .

THEY MAY LOOK THE SAME, SOME HAVE THE SAME COLOR BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. ONLY THE AMERICAN STD. SEAL WORKED TO STOP THE WATER LEAKING. NOT THE AFTERMARKET ONE. WELL WORTH THE COST.

The correct direct-fit replacement for my American Standard 4266. Easy-to-follow directions. Leak resolved. As other reviews have noted, make sure that you seat the top and bottom halves of the "clamshell" flapper together after replacement, and don't forget to replace the included O ring to seal the thumbscrew.

While it was difficult to remove the old part, the new part is doing exactly what it's supposed to. No more ghost flushes now after this new part has been installed.

2nd time in replacing this part... They last about 2 years and have to be replaced. Kinda of a pain to spend so much on a commode and have to fix it so often...

The toilet was "ghost flushing" every ten minutes. I figured it was costing me over $1.00 per day in wasted water. When I replaced the valve seal it stopped leaking immediately. Easy to install!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the seal and ring seal to have on hand since I’ve now installed 2 of the Champion 4 toilets in my home. It was the ring seal that was apparently leaking because replacing just the large seal didn’t solve the problem.

Wish they would last longer than a year. These last longer than most all oters ive tried.

From doing research on my flushing problem, I made sure to only order American Standard parts. This solved my problem completely.

I hate this model toilet. Constant problems of the leaking by the flapper assembly. Change out the seal and o-ring and within a week it starts leaking again. Poor design !

Your replacement flush valve seal doesn't work. You sent me a red seal to replace the blue colored seal that worked for over 2 years. Please send another blue seal ASAP!

this is not the flush valve seal that you sent me....i could of purchased the one you sent at Menards, it will not last more than a week sent me the official American Standard valve seal kit

After several failed attempts using local replacment products I ordered from the source.....serenity. No Drip, no fill, no well pump! I can sleep at night again, thank you.

I don’t understand why American Standard continues to sell seals that inevitably fail and require replacement; I have to replace the seals in my 3 Champion toilets at least once a year. Obviously, there is a design/manufacturing flaw. It is unfortunate that owners of AS toilets are forced to pay for replacement seals as a result of negligence in the part of AS.

After installing this kit my Champion 4 toilet is no longer constantly running water. It is important that when installing the small o-ring to make sure you hear at least one click when tightening the cap the o-ring is attached to.

I ordered this item on-line (on 11/6) via direct to American Standard. No delivery in a week and a half. So, I called you and talked to Sue who was very helpful (on 11/17). She determined your system indicated "no movement" on that tracking number. She said she would re-order the item via "warranty order" and it will go out the next week (Thanksgiving week). I got the shipment via Fed Ex a day or two before Thanksgiving. Thank you, Sue!! Seal installed and works like a Champ (ion).

Don't waste your time replacing the seal on a poorly designed product. An aftermarket flush valve is the answer.

Received item quickly. Replaced both pieces. Within days the toilet leaked. I would say there is another issue that hasn’t been talked about and I have no idea what to do.

Turns out there is a wrong way to install it, had to remove & flip the valve over. No leakage now.

Works great, no leaks after 2 weeks, unlike many of the web comments associated with off brand products. Do your homework before going for the less expensive third party brands.
