Quality gate so happy I bought it

I didn't read the fine print. It would be ok for someone who doesn't mind complicated assembly and mounting it to the wall. We returned it.

After researching outdoors gates for a deck and seeing rave reviews for this cardinal gate I was willing to pay more for it. We just put it up last night. Very poor quality. Don't expect it to last very long unfortunately.

A little difficult to open and close, but otherwise, it's great. Added vinyl lattice, with zip ties, to prevent my little puppy from being able to get out, or get her head stuck between the vertical bars.

Easily adjusted to my space height and width. Simple installation, easy opening mechanism

Easy to install using the helpful online video. The catch on it is a little tricky, but this gate does the job and also looks nice. Would recommend.

Worked great on our front porch. Keeps the fur baby from wanting to just run off the edge. Latch is a bit tricky until you get used to it, but would be great to deter toddlers.

This gate is absolutely amazing! We are using it at the top of our stairs. It's definitely easy for adults to open, but is definitely childproof. Installation was very easy. I highly recommend this gate!

I use it as outdoor fence gate and it works just fine for my wooden fence. Keeps my Havanese safe inside.

The Cardinal Outdoor Safety Gate installed easily and is working well. During the install, the owner references I have to purchase hardware if used outdoor, thus the 'Good' rating. If you advertise outdoor, ship outdoor hardware.

The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the unnecessarily complex latch. The problem isn't for people in the home who get used to it, the problem is for visitors, delivery people, USPS, etc. We wanted 2 outdoor gates to slow down pedestrian shortcut traffic around a busy beach house and they work for that, but the latch... The gates were easy to install and there are several videos on the Cardinal Gates website that apply to the outdoor gate even though the videos demonstrate the indoor version (SS30). The gates may not last forever in the beach weather, but the ease of installation and gate construction for the price makes this route so much cheaper than custom built gates. Even if they corrode beyond usability we can put up new ones in no time. I also looked at all other offerings for similar metal pet/child gates and there are durability problems, but many had better latch systems. Even Cardinal has similar gates with better latches that I wish they made outdoor versions of (e.g. Auto-lock and Duragate.)
