I just learned that you are no longer making the 8.5" shorts. Unless Carhartt begins to make this size again I will no longer buy Carhartt shorts - very disappointing. I have really enjoyed the 8.5" shorts for work.

I have tried 34, 36, and 38, they all are too small in the crotch, i am an average size guy, it fits too tight, do they make relaxed fit?

A good pair of shorts but I don't like that there is not a fifth pocket. I always put my pocket knife in it I thought all Carhartt pants or shorts came with a fifth pocket.

Bought two pair of the b147 shorts after being told they were the same as the B144 but with a 10" inseam vs a 8.5. I could live with the difference between the inseams, but the rise is 3" longer for the B147 (13 vs 10) so they come past my knees about 2" Please return the B144 sizing as not all of us especially those that are older ( 59-60 ) wear shorts this long as they can be uncomfortable. Thanks

Disappointed. I have 2 pair of those shorts in the same size but the blue ones run at least 1 size if not 2 sizes small.

I tried these shorts instead of the many pairs of the style B-144 shorts that I've worn over the years. The inseam length of 11" for these shorts over the B-144's 8.5" is way too long for short guys like me. They go past my knees and as a result are very uncomfortable when walking. I hope Carhartt brings back an option with the shorter inseam.

Love these shorts! My mind works in strange ways and I couldn't help but think of the line from "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Bengazi" Kris 'Tanto' Paronto: Could be the start of the Holy War. Dave 'Boon' Benton: You gonna fight the Holy War in your shorts? Strong move. I definitely would wear these shorts for chores around the house or farm, running errands, or even the occasional armed conflict. Great fit, as well as comfortable and durable.

Returned all that was purchased, loose fitting was way to big for my size. Have purchased original fit with no problems. Must admit first time ever using online purchase with Carhartt.

Great fit and bought more because of durability of shorts I already have.

Ordered in my husband's normal size and they were SO small. Had to return.

They are fine but I prefer the relaxed fit shorts that were not available. I will not order these again but wait for the relaxed fit to become available

Saw the comments about these shorts and ordered a pair on the large side, 34" when I usually wear 33". Of course they didn't come close to fitting, took out a tape and measured, with the waist button fastened, and got 32" I would've loved these shorts if they'd fit, so, after printing my return label for the mis-sized ones, I order the same shorts with a 36" waist. Hoping they're not too big.

The shorts are longer than the previous ones and the waist seems a bit tight in comparison to the canvas shorts I ordered before

Quality is Carhartt good. Was surprised that material was thinner then expected for a pair of work pants, and that these shorts run smaller than true size (other products purchased have fit correctly or even a little generous). I will be returning them.

I can’t believe I am saying this, but ever since they moved production out of Mexico to other countries the quality of all Carhartt products has decided to a point I will no longer buy or recommend their products. This used to be the brand workers could depend on, now it’s flimsy and cheap. Their customer service department says nothing has changed, but all my long lasting Carhartt were made in Mexico. Now they are made in Guatemala. The “Heavy” weight fabric feels like thin, cheap, Wal Mart brand. I am VERY disappointed in Carhartt.

best shorts, roomy, side pocket fits phone perfect, lightweight tough canvas...i hang my screw gun from the side holster...please dont stop making these!

All my pants and shorts are 34s...These seem like 32s. Need a 35 in these I guess. I thought they were work shorts,these are painters pants.I didn't want the loop pants.

Like the pockets on these, but will be returning. Too tight around the waist - especially for all the bending etc, in construction. Love the pockets though!! Wish these pockets were on the Rugged Flex which are more comfortable and fit in the same size.

they are a great pair of shorts just have to figure out how to buy a pair to fit true to size

Pants fit perfectly, very comfortable material and the functionality of them working in my shop is great. I’m sure these will last me for years to come!

Carhart = quality which is why we choose them. Very important to maintain that quality like the current high quality of the Rugged Flex jeans, for example. Don’t change! I purchased these same shorts about six months ago and I want say the fabric was nicer. I little thicker maybe, nicer quality and hung better. This latest version has a somewhat sloppier look.

Undersized compared to 34s I normally buy. 34s normally fit comfortably loose. These are snug and uncomfortable

I had a pair of Carhart shorts which I purchased over 20 years ago and just got rid of. The pants wouldn't wear out. The new shorts are not the same in design, but they are a great replacement for the originals. They are super comfortable and very durable.

please bring back the style #b144 cell phone pocket short 8 inch inseam these were classic shorts not sure about these new shorts i how carhartt is not going to start changing things for profit

Carhartt, Canvas Work Shorts are the best fitting shorts and really fit well in the hips and thighs. Also, there is no doubt about their quality/workmanship. I bought them to wear home from knee replacement surgery. They are so comfortable.

I like the feel and durability of these shots. I would highly recommend them!

Shorts are lacking the change pocket of previous models I have purchased in the past. The two pair are also a much lighter gauge of fabric and thus do not expect to be as durable as expected.

I've always liked these shorts. They're great work shorts. But the size I've always ordered (and still have, just aged and faded) isn't true anymore. I can barely get them buttoned and before you say it, my weight has decreased.
