Yes, the connectors/port/wago connectors do work with 12 gauge electrical, despite people answering in the questions that they don't. I had no issues inserting and removing them in the connectors that come with the lights. Attached an image to prove it. Lights are great, but next time I may try the ones that uses one large box with like 30 feet of cord and then you just run that cord to all of your lights and tap into the cord and you're done. You only have to run electrical wire to the box.

I have been using these recessed lights to finish my basement. However, the manufacture has changed the plugs that connect the light to their electrical boxes three times in two years! This means the new lights are NOT compatible with the old boxes... you cannot mix them. In spite of this, they have kept the box, model #, parts #'s and SKU the same... even though the newer lights are not compatible with the older ones. This also means that if you have any future issues with a light, both the light AND box will need to be changed to a new one. Trying to change the electrical box through a 6" hole in your ceiling will be very difficult. It is crazy they would just not keep the same connector so lights could be easily changed in the future in case of any issues.

These lights are great I installed them in ceiling space with only 3 inches of room and they fit perfect they light up nicely.

I'm installing these in the soffits of my home which are a 2x4 cavity at the end of the trusses. The small lights fit well but you cannot insert the AC to DC converter/junctionbox in the 2.24 in hole. I did see a different 2-in light with a short octagonal box that would probably fit for about the same price, but you have to order it. Otherwise - nice light, nice price!

I’d give the product five stars aside from one MAJOR flaw. NM wire knockouts are improperly located on the side of the junction box. Not only does this tear up drywall, it requires a tight bend in NM Romex which is a National Electric Code no no. Design flaw is not shown on product photos/videos since Commercial Electric demonstrated installation using larger 3 and 4" models. Hopefully in a future update a knockout is provided on the end of the j-box. Otherwise a quality elegant product.

These lights are really well-made and installation was super easy. I bought 4 of these to replace 20 year old incandescent floods in our kitchen. After pulling out the old enclosures, these lights hooked up very quickly and popped right into the previous openings....perfect and look amazing.

Have you been wanting to install some recessed lights but not wanting to install the old fashion big can lights look no further then these high quality Commercial Electric 2 in. Led lights. The price is pretty darn reasonable for the quality. The light feels heavy and is made of aluminum and has a built in heat sink. It's finished in a white power coat and has spring loaded tabs for a quick easy install. The wiring has water resistant connections to be able to be used in damp conditions. The whole set up is very compact and easy to install with basic tools and knowledge. The included template is a bonus as the hole needs to be cut quite precise. I would recommend getting a 2 1/4in hole saw bit to make the hole perfect. It can dimmed with a PWM/LED dimmer switch. The color temp at 3000k I feel is the perfect color temperature. Highly recommended.

This is my review of the Commercial Electric 2in Slim LED w/Glare Control recessed light kit. This is a really well designed and manufactured light. The wiring is set up to be easy to install. The light is detachable from the junction box with a weather-tite plug. Inside the junction box the wires are fitted with push on connectors with 3 holes for easy multiple light runs. The kit includes a template to make installation easy. The entire kit is very compact and will fit in almost any ceiling space. There is no housing required either! The light assembly is aluminum and has a built in heat sink. It does not feel cheap at all in fact, it has a nice "heft" to it. The glare control feature works really well. The LED is a soft white with a temp of 3000K. It can dimmed with a PWM/LED dimmer switch. I found the color to be very comfortable and perfect for lighting up a kitchen island. Thanks for reading!

These lights were a breeze to install! Thanks to the integral spring clips and convenient hole size template, you just drill a 2.25 inch hole, run the wires and push them in place. I recommend using a drill attachment to drill the holes, but if you don't have them, you can do that with a standard hand saw. Just be careful to not go outside the lines. The outer ring is 2.5 inches, so with a hole size of 2.25 inches you only have a quarter inch margin-of-error. The push on connectors are also helpful. The outer ring screws down to secure the contacts. There is a rubber O-ring to prevent moisture ingress. The light is precisely what they claim. Slightly cool in the 300 kelvin range. I find that all three of these dim consistently on one circuit. That's nice because some other LEDs I've used do not dim so consistently. They do tend to be warmer on full power. I took a photo of the installed lights during the daytime near a window so you can judge brightness and color temperature from that. You'll notice I placed these inside standard mounting rings with a diffuser so they look more like other lights in that kitchen area. I mention that because some may want the convenient installation of this design, but also want to match existing lights. Overall, we are pleased with the look and operation. I am VERY happy with how easy these are to install!

This is a great little lighting kit that comes with everything you need for a quick and easy install. The junction box has quick connects to wire to the main power, and it will easily slip into the hole you cut for mounting the light. After making the connections, simply slip the fixture into the hole and it will snap into place with the spring loaded brackets. One of the easiest upgrades I have done! The finished mounted light looks clean and is tight to the ceiling. Works great as a dimmable reading light!

This beautiful compact fixture is ideal for a small or compact area where you need extra lighting. I can see this going into a workbench area, kitchen sink, or closet room. The light packs a great punch when the lumen output. You get a cutting template for your benefit. The fixture itself has to clamps that ensure the light fixtures stays in place the whole time.

These lights are so easy to install you won't stop at just one! All the dark areas you identify will be brightened by installing these energy efficient and long lasting LED lights. Installation could not be simpler, just cut a hole the size of the included template, push connect the feeder wires into the wiring blocks, put the control box in the hole and snap the light into place! These are dimmable and safe for use in damp locations.

This is a great little recessed light kit if you just need to add a splash of light to a zone that isn't getting good coverage from your other lights. This light is also fantastic at spotlighting those fancy features in your home, like the sculptures you inherited from your grandmother, or your roommate's crypto mining rig. I picked this one up to fill out the lighting over one of the workbenches in my home shop. It's easy to install and very bright for it's size.

Easy install no special tools has the power distribution box attached via a thick strong cord the hole that is cut for the light is just large enough to fit the power distribution box up through and sits on top of the drywall, the light has strong springs that clamp the light tightly to the ceiling, the spot light feature in this light is great, really nice to be able to pin point the light where needed

This is a high quality baffle LED light fixture. The springs are extremely strong, so the light will fit flush against the surface after you feed the metal junction box and wire up through the bottom of the hole and up to the top. The fixture also disconnects easily from the junction box using a twist locking wiring harness, so if you need to install the junction box separately and cannot feed it through your cutout, that's possible too. It also makes it very easy to change out fixtures if needed, as long as they are the same size. Please be advised that not all 2" styles are the same. For example, this particular 2" baffle light requires a 2.24" cutout because the fixture is just slightly larger than 2". This was actually a good thing in my particular case since the holes in the top of the cabinet were already pre-cut and I was just trying to get a fixture that would fit! This one fit almost perfectly, but that's good because I finally have a size that will work! The junction box is small, but there is enough room to make the wiring connections, which are all quick-connect, so just be aware that once you make the connection, that's it. There's no pulling it back out. Wires must be tinned if they are stranded, but the majority of existing residential wiring uses solid wires, so you shouldn't have any problems. Just be aware if you are doing something custom. The integrated LED is expected to last a very long time, 3000K color temperature is on the warmer side and it's 372 lumens. The LED is slightly recessed into the fixture which I believe helps to reduce glare. It's a great fixture.

We ordered this lighting unit for our kitchen under the overhead cabinets the product is very well made from quality materials, there is no issues with the installation that is pretty straight forward, it does come with a very well written manual, this unit is made for the hard to get to places on projects that are existing, we definitely would recommend it to anyone in need of this type lighting,

Despite the springs being strong, I'm still having a hard time getting the light to snug up flush to the ceiling. They leave a 1/8" gap which is unsightly. Seems like they should have 4 spring holders instead of 2. Too bad I just bought like $900 worth of these to do a lot of rooms.

Pretty basic installation. Once you figure out the distancing between your lights, make sure you know where ceiling studs are and draw your circles between them. The snaps hold okay and electric is basic too.

... real deal (what did you think I was going to say). I don't typically review items, however, due to the crappy (or insert your own expletive) item Commercial Electric (CE) made 1004732881, I wanted to write a positive review to show I wasn't being biased. These slim lights are the best. CE nailed it!!! Here is what I like: • The junction box is separate and comes with low voltage whip to plug in to the slim disk. The junction box, while made of possibly the cheapest and thinnest metal I've seen, does the job. It uses a pressure clip to close the box, so be careful not to bend it too much. For my remodel that I demoed ceiling, I drilled a screw through the junction box to keep them on the joist and allow me room to put in insulation. I let the whip hang and plugged in the lights later. For the rooms that I did not take out ceiling, I fished Romex. The junction box fits easily through the 4.25" hole. • The ability to change the Kelvin lighting color. There is a "convenient" switch on the whip to allow you to adjust. HEY ENGINEERS: see that word "convenient", that matters!!! See review for 1004732881. • Work great with dimmers. Side note: do a search on Home Depot for 4.25" hole saw. Wow!!! Nice selection huh???? Ok, seriously, who doesn't know to have on hand the hole saw size required of a product you sell in your own store!!!??????? Whatever. Another place may have had a set of THREE (3", 4", 4.25") for 2wentE. Same as of ONE hole saw at HD. Point is, you are only going to need to drill a 4.25" hole as many times as you want to put in these AWESOME lights. I can't say enough about how much I like these lights (see the picture). They really are great for homes that you may have access to the electric, but need to tap into it and want to update your home. Ours is a 1940 house. No more knob and tube. I've updated everything slowly. 14/2 Romex is perfect for these little fellas! Cheers!

Excellent lighting for my daughter 11x11 bedroom. I love that you can choose between 5 different color temperature for this light.

Have only had a few days so can’t speak for their longevity but they look great and give off a lot of light. My husband installed them and had no problems whatsoever.

We initially started our project by installing retrofit cans, trim, and bulbs separately, but hit a snag when a duct was too close to one of the lighting positions. Ended up finding these and wish we started here instead of the cans. The low profile allows these to fit in tight clearances. The hardest part of installation was removing the old fixtures. The quick connects make installation a breeze and the spring loaded clips give a nice tug fit to the ceiling. The color changing is also a nice touch and the lights are easily removed from the ceiling if you want to change the color at a later date.

Im a retired electrician. Boy I wish these had been around during my heyday. Easy to prewire and install. Very bright. Beautiful low profile alternative to recessed lights.
