Good quality file for the money. I mainly file soft metals and/or wood. This file is a double cut file and it is excellent for rough filing. Afterwards I follow up with a single cut file which is great for smoothing things out. I have seen reviews where people say that "Nicholson files are not as good today as they once where". That may be true, but I do a good amount of bench work and today's Nicholson files are a good value for the money and they work well.
