Very nice round file. Hard and sharp. Needs a handle. We used it to clean up some 3d printed parts for our Palm Writer for the Blind. http://morgandynamicresearch.com/technology/palm-writer/

Sturdy and functional
This file handle is easy to tighten, and it gets a good grip on the file’s tang allowing most of it to be taken in. The handle itself is larger than most wood file handles, and it offers the user a better grip on the handle. It’s made of slightly soft black rubber with ridged green plastic on two sides offering a good grip to push and pull the file. The turn-to-tighten base of the handle is knurled, offering a good grip for tightening. This file handle will also grip a reamer or a hacksaw blade. This is a sturdy and functional file handle.
This universal handle is a good piece, it holds well for the most part I used it on a flat file and it held in no problem much better than no handle with the round file it was a bit trickier because of the square shank but once I got it locked in it held the file in place. It is much better having the handle you have more control and comfort using the file.
This easily solves the problem of having more files than file handles. Easily switched from one file to another, and accepting of a wide range of file sizes, the handle provides a good grip for use (and avoids sticking the file tang into one's hand, by using it without a handle). The metal jaws are provided with grooves to provide a good grip of the file tang and the longitudinal groove helps to center smaller file tangs in the jaws. The jaws are not spring loaded, so when you loosen them with the knob at the rear of the handle, you may have to pull them out by hand to fully open them.
It was very useful by helping me clear hard water deposit from my bathtub faucet.

These handles certainly hold files well. But I also use them to grip almost anything that has a thin round or flat end. I've used one to grip the end of the hinge rod of a piano hinge to remove it, for instance. Or as a grip for hanger wire bent to reach a switch on my overhead garage heater. The list goes on. Good thing to have around the shop, for sure.

Not nearly aggressive enough for the size of the file and no indication on the packaging alerting me to this.

Single Cut files are meant for finish work while double-cut files have a more aggressive pattern for quicker material removal.

This is not a high quality file. The serrations are too coarse and the steel was not super
hard as most files are.
