Great product, excellent bond and easy to clean up

Have been in bathroom wall and floor tiling mode for the last couple years in our 2 homes and have been very pleased with all the Thinset purchased from Home Depot. Believe now have spread 200 lbs. of this stuff and ALL the tiles are securely in place where we wanted them to be! Wish the grouting went so easily !

I do a lot of mosaic's and I started using versabond a few years ago and I am pleased with it.

Works good and bonds great with cement boards while tileing.

This versabond will bond !i have had it on a rage for months that i have washed for several months

Easy to mix with electric drill. Product adheres well and sets up slowly enough to get a lot of surface area tiled. I have used it for several projects now, and will use again in the future.

Versa Bond is a user friendly product. I compare the consistency to pancake batter, its self leveling, very long working time, no shrinkage and the bond phenomenal. Clean up is quick, easy and no stains left behind. Highly recommend completing all clean up within 24Hrs to avoid the use of a chisel. I used the product to repair my Porch I poured directly on top of clay brick that was detererioating and extremely uneven, mixed by hand in 5gal pails poured it let stand 5 minutes appeared level laid porcelain tile, It was that easy I could not believe it.

I've been using this for the past few weeks to tile my living and dining rooms. The mortar is easy to mix and apply, and provides a strong bond. My only suggestion would be to have a bag that is easier to open with a flap or 'spout' configuration so that it can be poured into a pail for mixing with less mess.

I have used this thinset brand many times and it has always performed. I use it for natural light colored rock and glass with no discoloration or problems. I also use it as a skim coat for damaged drywall, it works excellent.

I use it for my stone veneer project (outdoor kitchen) and it works just great. Contractor may consider it too expensive but for DIY it's just perfect, you save a lot of money anyway so paying a little extra for convenience is OK. Excellent adhesion, very easy to work with so saves you a lot of time and headaches.

Been using this Product since HomeDepot Opened up years ago. I can Trust it and I no it's not going to lift... I feel sorry for the guy who needs to Demo down to road :)

Despite not being a premium thinset mortar, Versabond is a very good quality product. It mixes predictably well and has a creamy consistency that is easy to trowel. The pot life is great, about 3.5-4 hours depending on temp and humidity. Open time is also quite good, you're able to trowel out a few rows at a time, and the thinset does not skin over too quickly. I used Versabond to install a complete Schluter Kerdi system in both my bathrooms, and it worked fantastically well. There is no issue with mixing the mortar to a rather loose consistency, in order to adhere Schluter Kerdi and Ditra to their respective substrates. The creamy consistency allows you to smooth out the waterproof membrane easily, and the bond is very tenacious. Being a lightly modified mortar, it needs a little extra time to cure on top of a Schluter membrane, but it works very well for setting tile on top of Kerdi and Ditra (however, you do lose your Schluter warranty by using a modified mortar). Make sure you follow mixing instructions, and allow the mortar adequate time to slake in order to achieve peak performance and bonding strength. No shortcuts here! Do it right and enjoy a great product, do it wrong and prepare to be disappointed. The only gripe I have has to do with Custom's packaging. The bag is a sad excuse for protection of a product that is susceptible to moisture. Bags are often ripped open on the pallets at Home Depot, and the spilled mortar is usually all over the place. Custom needs to take note of this, and take a good look at Mapei's packaging. Mapei mortars come in watertight plastic bags that don't rip open easily, and keep your mortar fresh and protected much longer. 4 stars because of the bad packaging, of an otherwise excellent product.

I would recommend NOT to use this product with porcelain tile. It seems to work with clay tile. I am replacing three rooms of tile due to lack of adhesion to porcelain tile ON RADIANT Heated floors. Expansion/movement due to floor heat, seems to break the bond. It did work well with clay tile. I have since found a Home depot product FOR porcelain tiles, which we will see what happens next heating season.

The Versabond White 50lb bag of Thinset was fast and easy to use when mixed to the instructions on the bag. It was a great addition to our bathroom remodel and beat our expectations. It dries pure white which is exactly what we needed for our quick flip of the bathroom!

Once this stuff cures, it is rock solid. Make sure to only add enough water for a thick pancake batter consistency though, otherwise it runs into the grout lines and can be difficult to clean out later.

You'd think that all mortar is the same. One isn't much better than another. Nope; I prefer VersaBond over another store's brand. Especially if I'm doing a wall or shower.

VersaBond worked great for me in cementing some loose tiles on a shower floor last week. I mixed a small batch per the instructions, and it quickly turned from a pile of wet powder into a useful, smooth, creamy cement. I could not use a mastic or other organic tile cement because the tiles were going on the floor. The VersaBond was easy to mix and easy to use. Mixing took only about five minutes with an old drill. Cleaning up the mixer was fairly easy with running water, a brush, and a small pick. You can see the dramatic improvement in the shower's appearance in the pictures below.

This Thinset was easy to mix and use. It does dry quickly, so make sure that you mix it a few times during your use. I would recommend mixing it half a bag at a time. The bag was not entirely accurate about the amount of square footage it would cover. We used the recommend trowel and still needed a few extra bags. The adhesion was quick and did not require a lot of adjustment with the tile. It allowed for floating of tile relatively well. The consistency was appropriate and easy to get on the trowel. I will be using this product again for my next tile project.

I don't have anything to compare this product to except what I've seen on TV. This was my first tile job every, but everything went smoothly with this thin-set. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how long it stayed pliable. After mixing one large batch to finish most of my bathroom project, I had to create a 2nd smaller batch over 2 hours later after having used up all of the first batch over the first 2 hours. I did not use the entire back in my first mix per the instructions, so that may have kept the mix usable longer. I used about 80% of the bag in 6 quarts in my first batch.
