Could not have safely removed Moen cartridge without this puller. I watched a YouTube on how to swap a Moen shower cartridge and learned quickly that video must have been to replace a newer cartridge than my 20 year old cartridge. I was afraid I was going to pull the copper pipes apart trying to pull the old cartridge with a pair of vice grips clamped on the end. Figured there must be a tool and of course there was. There was a little confusion on my part about how to use the tool with parts from the control but once I figured that out it made breaking the cartridge free and getting it out far enough to twist out of the body easier. It still took some brute force for me using the puller to get it free from the control body. I do not see anyway it could have been done without this puller

If you’re going to buy a tool to remove a shower cartridge save the approx. $4 and use this tool instead of the Moen brand. It worked great on my 20 year old Moen 1225 shower cartridge. DIRECTIONS: Be sure to sure to pull the center of the shower cartridge out as far as you can, and then screw this tool into the center. Then screw down the huge nut on the tool and PULL hard/steady/controlled. It’s super easy.

Easy to use and good enough for a (hopefully) one-time use. Will keep it in the tool bin should the need arise.

I am a plumber. It is needed to remove positemp cartridge, If valve is more than 10 years old, you must have a puller. Buy one, if not used return it.

Didn't attempt the job without this after reading the reviews. Money well spend. Certainly made the job quite straight forward.

This is ok for relatively loose cartridge. For real tough one, it does not help. The two prongs does not fit snugly to the cartridge, and it does not break if you try to wiggle it out. Get an authentic Moen brand, instead of this half compatible third-party product.

Worked great! Was able to easily remove the the Delta cartridge which was not budging until I used this tool.

I used it to pull out a stuck Moen tub cartridge. The Danco puller removed it with ease.

Got the job done and the price was reasonable.

This tool worked even better than expected. Moen cartridge was easily removed and the fully reinstalled.
