The DAP AMP line of products is specifically designed and formulated for fast skinning, which enables the product to develop water resistance (return to service) in 30 minutes. This rapid skinning characteristic means that there is reduced open time (time to apply/tool). If you find the AMP product's open/working time to be insufficient, the only options are to apply/tool the product in smaller sections or consider switching to a slower skinning/longer working time latex (water-based) formula. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "sealant applies white and dries clear in 7-14 days (depending on joint depth, temperature and humidity). All of DAP's (CLEAR) acrylic-latex (water-based) sealants will function this way and are labeled accordingly with the information found above, regarding this color changing performance characteristic. Please note that full clarity is only achieved once all of the water contained within the product has evaporated. Given that the packaging did not perform as designed, the product may returned to the point of purchase (DAP will issue a credit to the retailer for the returned item) or alternately, the product (with proof of purchase) can be returned directly to DAP for a refund of your purchase price. Based on your commentary, you appear to be describing aged/expired material. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you, when calling in, please have the product package available, as we will need to collect production information from it, so that we can determine the age of your product.

We are not clear as to the reason for your low star review, as DAP Kwik Seal Ultra is not labeled or marketed as a "100% silicone" formula. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature, DAP KWIK SEAL ULTRA is a siliconized acrylic-latex (water-based) formula, not a "100% silicone" formula. With respect to your commentary indicating: “It is not clear”, as indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature under label section FOR BEST RESULTS: "Sealant applies white and dries clear in 7-14 days (depending on joint depth, temperature and humidity)." All of DAP's acrylic-latex (water based) sealants will function this way and are labeled accordingly. DAP also offers a full line of 100% silicone formulas; however, these formulas have a stronger odor and require solvent for clean-up (when applying) and are not paintable.
