Lots of boing
Very good caulk! Easy to apply and because it has so much elasticity, it seals really reliably. I ahd previously used a stiffer caulk for a bathroom vanity and it cracked. This one doesn’t crack even if you budge and wiggle the vanity.

I needed ext caulk for siding (almond color) that was installed 2015. I tried the Almond color of DAP. It was a perfect match.

This stuff lasts both on the job and in the tube!
I live in NE Florida. As I write this, it is Jan 2024. I bought my new to me house in 2006. During the first couple months of home ownership, I tried to right all the wrongs left for me by the previous owner. My home has wood flooring, and there were gaps or spaces that looked unsightly. I found this brown Dynaflex 230 premium, the color almost matched the floor, and it seemed a easy solution. I filled the gaps, and sealed the tube for storage. I always put 2 pieces electrical tape over the tip, then wrap the nozzle round and round for a air tight seal. I keep my unused caulks in my hot humid garage. Today I needed some caulk for a project, color didn't matter, so I thought I'd see what I might have. I pulled this tube from a high shelf and began to unseal it. The tip material was dried and wouldn't budge so I cut some off the nozzle. After some effort, the cured material started to move and very soon pliable caulk began to flow. Wow, I couldn't believe it! It applied like it was bought recently, not 18 years ago. I am sold!!

I like using this for base and trim and windows. Easy to work with and gives a nice finish when done. Seams to last and stay flexible. It set ups rather well compared to other's I have used and can be painted in the same day when you time it right. Definitely a go to for a lot of my projects.

      Poor Quality Control
As a quality control professional, I'd be mortified to see this. I bought a tube of clear caulk and it was actually white, as shown in the attached photo. Of course, I will return but that doesn't do much for my wasted time.

Thank you for posting your feedback on DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Sealant.
We're sorry to see your low star review on DAP DYNAFLEX 230 (Clear). As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: " DYNAFLEX 230 (Clear) applies white and dries clear in 7-14 days (depending on joint depth, temperature and humidity). DYNAFLEX 230 is an acrylic-latex (water-based) chemistry, accordingly, the sole drying mechanism is the evaporation of water. Dry time can be significantly impacted by cool or humid application conditions, moisture in the application surfaces or by thick (deep) applications of the sealant. Clear acrylic-latex sealants cannot turn clear until all of the water contained in them has evaporated. Because you did not provide any project details, such as: size of the joint, application surfaces, surface preparation, application technique, application conditions or the amount of time since the product was applied, it is difficult to provide a proper response in this format. Color Completely Inaccurate
I bought Almond DAP caulk to fill in around door frame molding after new vinyl plank flooring was installed. The color shown on the packaging matched really well. That color on the packaging is not remotely close to the reality of the product which is slightly warm and off-white.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Sealant. DAP DYNAFLEX ULTRA (as is the case with virtually all acrylic-latex/water-based sealants) will dry to slightly darker shade than the sealant appears in its wet form, however, this color change is not dramatic. In applications where color accuracy/color match is critical, a small test application would be recommended prior to proceeding with a full-scale application. The final color development occurs as the product reaches its fully dried state; however, 24 hours of dry time (under normal interior conditions) is typically sufficient for purposes of a test application. In addition, because there is no industry color standard for "Almond", colors are best selected visually (rather than relying solely on the color name). If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, the product may be returned to the point of purchase or returned directly to DAP for a refund of your purchase price. Instructions for this process can be found on the product package. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477. DAP

Color doesn't even come close to the color on tube
The color when wet was perfect and I was very happy with how it went on. But once it dried I was very disappointed. It's much more yellow than almond as you can see in the photo. Now after spending a couple hours getting all the old nasty grungy caulk off and completely cleaned it looks like I haven't done anything. Complete waist of time and money.

            Spurts out on its own
It’s great caulk, but 1/4 of each tube is wasted because it continues to flow, even with a drip less caulk gun. Caulking exterior, 30’ up on a ladder, this becomes very messy and inefficient.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Dynaflex 230Premium Elastomeric Sealant. Based on your commentary, it would appear that the cartridge may have an entrapped air pocket. Entrapped air can lead to afterflow (product dispensing after application force applied to the caulking gun has stopped). Your commentary indicating: "1/4 of each tube is wasted because it continues to flow", is virtually impossible, from a physical/mechanical perspective. Great caulk
I got this because I like dap products and needed it to fill in gaps against molding. 1 container did a 13x13 room, closet included, and just shy of roughly 18" before I had to open a second one. It went on smooth with barely any air bubbles and dried fast. The white goes well with the high gloss I painted the trim. It filled gaps up to a quarter inch no problem and there's hardly any smell. Nice and easy clean up too. It smooths real easily whether with your finger or a damp paper towel.

Brown? Sort of but not quite.
I was looking for a medium brown caulk to match my trim. Apply this next to a true medium brown color and you can see that it is more of a purplish hue than a true brown. Not even an attractive color or purplish brown. Better experiment first before committing to this color.

Works well to fill large gaps.
This caulking worked well to fill spaces between boards on a patio cover. Some spaces were up to 1/2 inch wide. I allowed it several days to cure and re-caulked any low spots. Again waited for it to cure and painted it. I would not hesitate to use this product for future projects.

Best large gap filler - 1000 uses
Behaves like a blend of silicone and butyl rubber when cured. Lots of stretch, doesn't crack, and hasnt yellowed in the sun by my sliding door. It's even replacing the butyl rubber material in my RV corner seals. Might not be 100% waterproof like polyurethane or silicone, but I think the bond quality and flexibility coupled with the 5cm (!!) gap rating makes up for any worries you might have. Plus, the best part is you can clean it up with just a bit of water, or even with a dry rag!

Another great Dap product with a Premium Quality that will last, just follow instructions.
I have been using Dap products for years and all you need to do is think of what you are using this product for and select the right product. Be sure to follow prep and drying time of this product before you paint or stain and check weather conditions.

Typo on label it seems, 2-4 hours to paint...not 7-14 days. See picture.
I bought this in clear mistakenly. I've gone through probably 20 tubes of white. When I looked on the label to see the time until you can paint over it, it says 7-14 days! I checked the white tube and it says 2-4 hours, 7-14 days to full cure. I'm assuming this is a typo based on a previous customer review that I searched out that said 7-14 days until paint is nuts and gave it a low rating. The response from a rep was that 2-4 hours AS THE LABEL STATES is the time until it will accept paint. Most likely the rep doesn't have a misprinted label like I got, and most likely the reviewer had. Good stuff, doesn't go on as easily and isn't as easy to work with as the white stuff, but still way better than acrylic latex painters caulk (cheap stuff). Hopefully this review helps someone.

Thank you for posting your feedback. DYNAFLEX 230 (Clear) and DYNAFLEX 230 (White) have significantly different paint application times. The label data that you reference in your commentary is not a typographical error. The labels for “Clear” and “White/Colors” communicate different data, as they reflect the inherent performance differences between the “Clear” and “White/Color” versions of the product, more specifically, “Clear” acrylic-latex (water-based) sealants dry slower than White/Color versions. As indicated on both the product package label and supporting product literature (Technical Data Sheet) - DYNAFLEX 230 (Clear): "Allow sealant to dry clear (approximately 7-14 days) before painting with latex or oil-based paints." As indicated on both the product package label and supporting product literature (Technical Data Sheet) - DYNAFLEX 230 (White): "Allow sealant to dry 2-4 hours (longer in cool or humid conditions) before painting with latex or oil-based paints.” Should you have additional questions or wish to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to contact DAP Technical Customer Service at 888-327-8477. This is my go-to for filling in trim molding gaps
After installing white crown, chair rail, and baseboard molding in our old house, the unevenness of the walls became very obvious. Dynaflex 230 to the rescue! With a little practice and the tip cut at an angle, you can put in a bead of caulk into the gap without too much cleanup required. For the photo, I stopped a couple feet short of the wall. The top edges were already done. It makes for a MUCH cleaner appearance. Three weeks and multiple daily showers later - no cracking or shrinking or anything. I have done the same with trim installed in other rooms with similar high quality results. This approach also makes it a lot easier to paint adjacent to the trim by cutting in with a brush.

I had an old stock tank I wanted to turn into a water container garden, but it had some small leaks around the base. I used this sealant on the inside of the tank and the outside around the seams, and let it dry for about a week. Then I got impatient and filled it with water anyway (it said it could take a couple of weeks to dry completely). When I filled it up the leaks were much better, and it could hold water almost completely, but still leaked a little bit. I figured it wasn't that big of a deal and I would need to do periodic water changes anyway, so I left it at that. The biggest surprise came like a week later when this stuff finished drying (while holding water) and now it doesn't leak at all! THIS STUFF IS MAGIC!

Clear version - Perfect for brick to wood trim!
I recently stripped and scraped 50 years worth of old white caulk from the wood trim around my front door where the trim abuts to brick. After removing the old caulk, the contrast between the brick and dark newly-painted trim looked really good - but there was an air gap. Filling with white caulk would not have looked good, so I tried the clear variety of this product. The result was very satisfying. The photos show the result and what the trim to brick transition looked like "before". Note that the clear caulk goes on white, but after several days it turns clear as it cures. Don't forget to fill wider gaps with foam backer as the instructions suggest.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with DAP DYNAFLEX 230. Because you did not indicate the size of the joint, application surfaces, surface preparation, application technique or application conditions, it is difficult to provide a proper response. DYNAFLEX 230 is a water-based formula, as such, the sole drying mechanism is the evaporation of water. Dry time can be significantly impacted by cool or humid application conditions, moisture in the application surfaces or by thick (deep) applications of the sealant. When more challenging applications are present, DAP would recommend that you consider our line of fast cure sealants, such as DAP 3.0 Window, Door, Trim & Siding High Performance Sealant. The fast cure sealants will be surface dry and ready for paint in approximately 30 minutes, even in cooler and/or more humid application conditions. Should you require additional assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477. DAP

When you're buying caulk, you should be aware that, just like paint, the price is going to indicate the quality. In the caulk family, the cheapest caulk is PAINTER'S CAULK. Painter's caulk (called Dap brand Alex Painters Caulk at Home Depot) is low quality and will crack and fail within a short period of time. Painters will use painters caulk to save money. DON'T LET THEM. The next price point up is PAINTER'S CAULK WITH SILICONE (The main brand that Home Depot sells is called Dap Alex Plus). This is a better choice than plain painters caulk because it is made from acrylic, a more flexible glue that is the primary ingredient. They also add a very SMALL amount of silicone to further prevent cracking. While this is a good choice, but you can still do better. Read on. The next price point up is ELASTOMERIC CAULK. (The main brand Home Depot sells is called Dap Dynaflex 230). Elastomeric caulk is far superior than the previous 2 mentioned. It is flexible up to 50% of it's size and can be painted. It lasts YEARS. Home Depot sells it in a wide variety of colors. When I have contractors doing work on my house for me, I ALWAYS insist that they use Dynaflex 230 Elastomeric Caulk. It may cost $1-$2 more, but it is WORTH IT. In the 2 pictures I submitted, this is a large piece of Dynaflex 230 that was removed from a patio door that was changed out. It was on there for about 2 months. In the first picture noticed how much it will stretch without breaking. I could have stretched it even further (like gum, but stronger), but it was too difficult to stretch it and hold my camera and push the button at the same time! In the second picture, I have twisted it to show the flexibility. The twist is to the left of the piece. Take note that other retailers sell this product also, so it is widely available.

No big deal. I would recommend and will buy again. I like dap products.

I will run my fingernail or a non-sharp edge between the tape and the seal and the blue tape comes off without pulling the silicone. We wash big hot soup pots, so we like the seal to be good and fresh. Even with going hot to cold, it does not crack or peal. The clean-up is easy. It does not smell. It works with varied materials, like the porceline sink to the granite top. I always keep a tube of this around the house.

We tried the painters sealant ALEX also by DAP. This sealant did not crack or shrink like the ALEX product did. This sealant is worth the extra cost.
