The drill works very well for normal drilling work. However, I was trying to drill through a 7 inch timber and still can not find a drill bit that will handle the job and not bind down the drill. I tried spade bits as well as auger style and they all would bind it down. I looked for a higher amp drill but could not find one small enough for the area being drilled yet powerful enough to do the job. It does work great for smaller timber or wood drilling.

Great drill with plenty of power

Happy with the Dewalt corded drill. I previously owned a battery powered drill but even though I used it infrequently the batteries died and are expensive to replace. This drill works fine for me and I don't have to worry about re-charging or replacing batteries.

This drill is awesome. It's torque is through the ROOF which is exactly what I required for lifting my motorcycle on a special lift I purchased. This drill doesn't slow down a bit at even 1/2 speed when lifting my motorcycles and barely gets warm. Forewarned though you better hold onto it with both hands otherwise you might have a broken or badly sprained wrist.

As expected, heavier than my smaller drill, but plenty of power for the job I needed it for.

Very nice drill with plenty of power and a nice grip but it’s a little on the bulky side and the cooling fan exhaust could have been better directed . Minor inconvenience compared to all the positive things about this drill .

For anyone wanting a yellow tool, this is the one! Why be satisfied with insipid colours like beige, sad colours like blue or communist colours like red? Remember, Yellow is mellow. Just the mood you want to be in when you contemplate drilling anything.

Powerful but it gets overheated when drilling holes in 1 ft wood after 3 or 4 holes

Great drill for boring with 1" auger bits. Not as bulky as some but has plenty of torque. Makes short and quick work for what I need it for. Another tried and proven Dewalt product.

Ready for heavy duty use right out of the box. I literally opened the box, attached the chuck key to the cord, attached a mortar paddle, plugged it in, and started working. Solid drill.

Solid but not indestructible

I bought this drill a few weeks ago to have in my arsenal in addition to my cordless set of drills for drilling in tougher situations and mixing concrete in 5Gal buckets. It mixed like a dream, got pretty hot as to be expected. The secondary handle makes mixing a dream, and the 10 volts proved helpful over my coworkers older, lower voltage, corded drill. I also used it for drilling some 3/4" holes through a trippled up 2x12 beam and it went through super easy. As it is a more powerful drill it is a bit heavier than the lower voltage drills, but the secondary handle offsets the weight, and I find anytime I'm using a drill for this much power I'm rarely using it one handed anyways. The secondary handle is designed really well, easy to adjust and its locking mechanism is solid. Additionally, as it is more powerful than other drills, it is also more expensive, but I find it worth the money if you need the extra power. Good drill, good design. Almost went with the hammer drill version of this drill (DWD520) but between this drill and my rotary hammer, I found that unnecessary and worth saving the money. The build of the drill seems tough so far and I expect it to last me many years.

Excellent power, weight and ease of use!

I needed to drill a number of holes to concrete floor to secure my racks to meet earthquake preparedness, before the drill arrive I thought I was better to buy the next stronger one but when I got the unit and used it to see how it handles the task, turns out it can handle the work beautifully, I am very happy to own this drill. I also have a cordless drill thus this Dewalt 10 Amp will be handy around the shop floor.

Good drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this drill in February to use to wire brush some old beams. The drills handle was helpful when I was brushing the beam. It has also been excellent for drilling wholes in concrete. Impressed with the quality of the tool.
