Very, very disappointed......
Almost all my tools are Dewalt. I bought this nailer in July of this year because my Bostitch went south on me. Rushed to Depot and bought the only one they had. They advertise ten shots per second, I'm lucky I get two. The recoil just isn't there. I re oiled, re adjusted the pressure and nothing makes it work like it should. I've owned over 30 nailers ( framers, siding and roof ) in the 25 years of building storage sheds and never have I had one perform soooo poorly.

    Double fires
Nail gun double fires--or triple fires--nearly every time. I got it to roof my shed. I have consulted the user manual to troubleshoot, adjusted the air pressure many times, and played with the depth adjuster. It still double fires!! Terrible product that burns through your nails and does a bad job, too.

      junk
The day i bought it, I can't get one correct fire. It either fires two nails (how is that even possible?), fires zero nails, or fires one and leaves it 3/4" too high. Also it jams. I'm absolutely using the correct nails. I've tried a range of pressure from 70-120 PSI. I'd you examine how the nailer operates, you'll realize that it must fire a nail and then advance to the next nail (in that order). When it intermittently fires two nails, it must be mixing up the order of operations.

        great powerful nailer
I’ve used many different types of roofing nailer‘s and I own a few different brands. And so far out of all the ones I’ve used this Dewalt is my favorite. It’s powerful but it’s easy to adjust on the depth with just a turn of the knob so nails don’t go to far in or too far out. I’ve used it for several roofs already and it’s holding up just fine. But my definite favorite feature of it is the way it sets the nails. I don’t know if it’s how the barrel is set or what but out of all my nailers this one drives them in the straightest. And to me that is very important for proper installation. I literally have hardly any nails go out of whack. I have also had no problems with any jamming. I think I’ve had one jam throughout my entire time owning it. And I’ve literally shot thousands of nails with this gun. I would definitely recommend this nailer to anybody because of the way it performs and any contractor would love it. For a DIYer it’s good also but is is faster but with bumpfire anyone with some quick practice can use it

          don't buy this one.
my wife bought me this coil nailer with nails to redo the roof on our home. Sofar I'm half way done and the coil nailer keeps jamming, double and triple nails at a time, and had fired nails while no one is touching it. Than God it was pointing at the garage and not my daughter or I who were the ones on the roof when that happened.

I am having problems with the nail gun firing when I want it to. It will misfire several times in a row. My pressure is adjusted as it should be but it is with the trigger I'm thinking. I really like Dwalt tools. This is unusual.

We bought this pneumatic nailer for our fence project. We had done part of our fence with hammer and nail, it took us all weekend. With our new nailer, we were able to do more fence and we were done in 4 hours. This nailer was easy to use and easy to load more nails. Now our projects will be faster and more efficient.

The Porter-Cable RN175C The product is packed in a double wall cardboard box with large staples holding the top closed. The instructional pamphlet has instructions written in English, French, and Spanish. The manufacturer needs to add more side protection for shipping purposes. If the box is jostled abruptly the 1/4" air nipple can break through the side of the package. See the pictures I have added to the review. The pneumatic nailer weighs 5.3 pounds and is very compact compared to others I have used in the past. This should allow you to work longer without getting the tennis elbow or fore-arm strain that can arise from long term use. It has been more than 30 years since I used a pneumatic roofing nailer and I need to practice more. I bought a box of the 1-¼" electro-galvanized Grip-Rite. Straight out of the box I drove 98 nails and 26 of them were double fire. I seemed to have better luck using the method where you hold the trigger and bump the tip to fire the nail. I also experienced about 6 blank fires but there were no jams. I do like the fact that they have included a rubber strip on the side of the coil drum to help keep the gun from sliding off the roof. All the guns I have used before had metal coil drums so I am not sure how well a plastic drum will last. Although having a plastic drum should be less expensive to replace if it ever breaks. The large knob to adjust the depth is another thoughtful feature. In my opinion this nail gun is a good value product that designed and built for the DIYer or someone that doesn't want to swing a hammer all day.

I'll be using this to make a dog house and chicken coop a little later this summer. I fired a few nails through it no problem. If you're new to air tools, always be sure to oil your tools before use and they'll last you a long time. I like the adjustable depth for this gun, which is a nice feature. The bump fire option is there as well, which is pretty much required for any legitimate nailer like this. In my picture below, you can see the whole nailer and magazine opened up for easy loading of the coiled nails. My only concern is that the coil holder is plastic, perhaps an ABS or something like that. It undoubtedly helps with weight since this nailer would be fairly hefty with the full roll of nails in there. I'm pleased so far and would certainly recommend.

in my opinion the porter cable rf175c roofing nailer is as good as any other nailer in this price range and has all the features you need to install a shingle roof. the biggest advantage this nailer has is it's smaller size for getting into tight places and light weight of 5.34 lbs for easier handling. it has all the features you would want in a nailer such as adjustable nail length, adjustable nail depth, adjustable shingle guide, it's easy to load and depending on your preference you can shoot 1 nail at a time or use the bump mode for multiple nails in sequence. i used it to install 1 & 1/3 squares of shingles on a small roof over a sliding patio door and it worked flawlessly. it sure beats hand nailing shingles and i am very happy with this nailer.

I haven't received all my roofing materials yet, but I decided to do some preliminary testing with this Porter Cable roofing nailer. I just used a couple of scrap pieces of wood and some 1 1/4" roof nails. I utilized a small pancake style compressor. When I first started with the nailer I had the air pressure adjusted too low, and it would only shoot one nail and not advance the next nail. I then adjusted the pressure up to 90lbs. It worked great then. I then adjusted the nail penetration so that it was just flush with the wood surface. Once I get into the roofing project I'll do additional review. So far so good. I am pleased.

              Awsome Framing Nailer
My husband was so happy when we got this he wanted to try it out right away. I have been waiting for him to put our gazebo together that he promised for a long time. He got this and started the project immediately. It has been working great and has not had any issues with nails getting jammed like other models he used in the past. That makes the work go a lot faster when you don't have to keep stopping to fix the jammed nails. This Dewalt nailer is great and we wouldn't trade it for any other brand. Highly recommend getting one.

GREAT WELL BALANCED NAILER WITH LOWER FELT RECOIL THEN OTHERS
I am really pleased with the feel and function of this framing nailer from Dewalt. The new technology in this nailer really reduces felt recoil compared to other framing nailers that I have used and the optimized center of gravity makes this nailer well - balanced and easy to use. The tool free depth of drive adjustment makes it simple to set depth to match material you are nailing thru. I took nailer and sent nails into a 4X4 post and the nailer set nail flush with surface with minimal amount of recoil.

The product is excellent, it works very well. The problem is that to get it in the store I had to wait more than 20 minutes for someone to help me open the doors because they have keys to get the product out.

Bought this because all the dewalt ones I have don’t cycle nails when it’s cold out. It was cold out and I needed to finish a roof that day. Works great even below freezing when new.
