I find that the attached tool is very secure and safe. That was my only concern before trying it. But the way it locks is foolproof.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Love the EZ Lock Mandrel (EZ402) It makes changing your attachments quick and EZ. All you do is place the mandrel into the shaft of the dremel tighten it. Then pull down with your fingers the brown cylinder and expose the metal Place your wheel , in my case, turn the wheel to lock it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dremel EZ Lock Mandrel makes using things like cut off wheels so much easier. No more fumbling for the tiny screw that holds the wheel onto the mandrel and hoping you don't cross-thread it when tightening the screw. Simply push the keyed wheel on and turn it 45 degrees and you are ready to use it. For this review I paired the EZ Lock Mandrel with a 1-1/4" cutting wheel and used it to cut some chain to length for a project. The Mandrel held tight and my work was done in a flash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I remember the older type of locks for the Wheels. Although they did the job, and were dependable and safe, these do it far faster! A simple push down, rotate, and your done! The EZ Lock Mandrel is a marvelous option if you want to get the most out of your Dremel Rotary Tool…I own several, and Pre-Load different blades for quick use in the Shop.

This mandrel makes swapping out cutting wheels and other accessories very easy. It holds wheels very well too. I use this on my Dremel 200 with 1/8" collet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The EZ402 Mandrel is so much better than the old 402 mandrel with the screw. This is one piece and no screw to loose or tighten. The EZ mandrel has a no-slip, notched design to prevent my accessories from slipping, unlike the old design when the screw starts to loosen. It's easy to change out to the various EZ accessories (grinding wheels, abrasive buffs, abrasive brushes and the cut-off wheels). This mandrel makes it easy to complete a silversmith project by not fussing with a screw from the old-style mandrel. I can quickly change out from a cut-off wheel, to a grinding wheel, to an abrasive buff to a polishing cloth with the EZ accessories. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

he Dremel EZ Lock (locking mandrel) does exactly what it was designed to do, make accessory changes easy and simple! You simply pull lightly, twist, and release. Works PERFECTLY! And it’s a lot better than the old method of having to use a small screwdriver to change our discs and attachments. I have been using Dremel tools for many years and wish I had this a long time ago! I’ll make sure all of my future accessories work with the EZ Lock because it’s so darn convenient! Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

EZ Lock Mandrels and the Attachments made for its use I find are the easiest way to accomplish multiple tasks using Dremel Rotary Tool. I change Attachments in a project often, and also wear down attachments, this is the quickest way swap out items such as Cutting Wheels and Grinding Wheel in unison without the need to use any tool (Screwdriver) to change between attachments. Abrasive Buffs come in many grits and styles to sand away rust or clean areas, and most projects involving their use involve several changes from wear and grit changes, this is where using the EZ Lock proves itself most efficient for Dremel Rotary Users.

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. Have used the ez lock in the past and it's brilliant, locks cutting wheels with ease and is durable. After using it with the new dremel max diamond wheel I was impressed.

I’ve been using Dremel products off and on for over 10 years and when I first got my hands on this nifty EZ lock mandrel, I was a little skeptical. I was a little concerned of the free play that is noticeable when just handling it with a Max Life cutting wheel attached and not in use. Much to my surprise there seemed to be no play when the tool was in motion and this little innovative tool makes life a lot easier. It completely removes the hassle of the old way of replacing cutting wheels. Just slide it down, spin your cutting wheel 90 degrees, remove it, repeat. I can’t wait to see more compatible accessories! Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. At first, I had difficulty pulling down the spring-loaded section of the mandrel to put on the cutting blade. The hard part was turning the cutting blade to lock in place while holding the spring-loaded part. It got easier over time. This is much easier to switch our accessories over time rather than fumbling with the tiny screw or switching out heads. Time to start switching out my cutting blades.

Item was easy to use. Made changing disk a breeze. Also allowed for full coverage sanding disk, no screw in the center

The tool is great for detail cutting. I bought it to detail cut ceramic tile . It worked great. I was a able to cut a circle in the tile using the Dremel to score the tile in the shape I needed. Easy bit change and it came with a lot of bits. I did have to purchase the ceramic tile bit and quick-release bit separately.

now can buy newer , more useful attachments without removing the chuck

Destroyed into 7 pieces even attempting a 1" x 1/4" cut into plate steel with the regular and high end metal cutting discs.. the regular metal cutting discs' EZ mount broke off them instantly.. the entire pack of them. The high end disc's mandrel mount was intact.. but the mandrel itself broke into 7 pieces instead with it.. I do not recommend for real metal work in the slightest.. nit even for the tiniest of cuts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple and easy lock mechanism. Just pull, twist, and release. The wide variety of EZ Lock accessories fit snuggly on this attachment; offering you broad range of materials you can cut through. Definitely recommend.

The downside here is that this design does not do a great job holding the cutting edge in place - I have had it slip off on more than one occasion. When it does hold, it works great and the cutting edge is easy to swap out with another during jobs that require multiple edges.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great idea that saves a lot of time. There should be more attachments available for it. Part of my dislike about the tool swap is the tiny screw. This effectively replaces that, needs more tools to go with it.

This mandrel makes working with my Dremel so much more enjoyable and convenient. All of my old sanding disks and cutoff wheels have been pushed to the forgotten corners of my storage drawers to make room for the ez lock attachments.

This mandrel is able to lock a cutting disc pretty tight. However if the disc is warped or bent where it attaches to the mandrel...like the one I was using...there's no way to correct this and your cutting project is done.
