The door is exactly what we needed to get air flowing through our house without all the bugs. It is also nice because the locking mechanism is just out of reach for my children so they can see out but not run outside or let in strangers. We LOVE IT! It is especially sturdy and helpful against the Wyoming wind.

Door allowed moisture inside the core which is made of OSB Particle Board. The inner core stayed wet and caused the exterior aluminum skin to deteriorate. The door was under an overhang and not directly exposed to the weather. It failed after less than 3 years.

Bought this for a Mother's Day gift. Installation was very easy, just followed the directions. Could be installed by one person, although a second pair of hands is helpful. All hardware was included and packaged well. Instructions were 95% clear and easy to follow. Door and hardware seem solid and not flimsy. Now I'm thinking of getting another of the same door for my own house! Tip: To those who say the inner wood core of the door becomes rotten or "spongy" after use, run a bead of silicone caulk along where the door sweep meets the door. I believe the water gets down inside there, since the sweep goes outside of the door itself, and when water gets down inside there, it soaks up into the wood core, which is exposed at the bottom of the door.

The instructions were the biggest challenge. The diagrams were weak but I managed. I had to adjust construction according to my crooked doorway of 1950's house. I elected not to use enclosed door handle and added my own handles. Also added a latch to lock the door as it didn't come with one. The seal is awesome. No air gets in. I can leave the front door open and barely hear cars driving by as the storm door seals great keeping noise and wind out.

It was a universal screen door so you have to have some carpentry skill to put together, but other than that the price, look and how well it works can't beat it. Also ordered online and was ready to be picked up in store when I arrived.

This door was installed INSIDE and has been in use for 3 months. The interior of the door is particle board and the frame that was attached to the particle board completely came off of the door. This door has not been subject to any weather conditions, such as wind or rain.

I am very pleased with this door. It works well, looks good and is pleasant to use.

I bought this door because it says it "oop-proof" to put up. It started out simple but when it came to the handle that was a problem. We used the templet that came with the door and made the holes. Put the hard ware on and it did not touch anything to lock the door. Now I have a door that will not lock just close.

I bought 32" x80" door in May of 2006 and its now showing signs of exterior paint peeling and buckling on the bottom section of the exterior of the door. I contacted Emco and they agreed to replace it. So I decided to buy another one for another door and give it a try again. With a 12 year warranty from Emco they stand behind their product that's all I need. The door is easy to install so that is no problem.

Why spend all the resources on a door like this to have a plastic latch that allows the system to open when lightly pulled on. One thing makes the door fail at its purpose.

We put this up in our garage. It’s perfect to let the dog in and out.

This is a light weight door which isn’t bad for the price and should serve my purposes. i bought 2 doors. I had problems with defective parts on one door and had to request replacement parts which I received quickly from Anderson directly under included warranty coverage.I did not have an experienced installer do the work which I regret, but the doors themselves are not bad not great. I guess you get what you pay for.

If funds are a problem it is OK. It is not as strong as I thought. Really look at what they have in the store. 4000 may be a better buy.

A solid door with good components, the assembly instructions were spread between three different pamphlets and a bit confusing, but then I’ve never seen good instructions so I did what every male with adhd does and improvised. Looks good and works well!

Within one month I had to replace the door closer. It would not adjust. Door closed very very slowly.

I purchased this model once before. After a few years the bottom of the door started to erode so I have replaced it once again with the same model. I hope it was just an anomaly and does not do the same thing. As far as accomplishing it's task as a storm door, it does a good job. If this one does not erode I would rate it much higher.
