We are sorry to hear about your experience! Pine is typically a carpet grade tread since it is known to soak in stain. If you are looking to achieve an even stain we will always recommend choosing an oak species wood.

Easier than cutting and routering raw lunmber. Some were fairly dirty, but will be sanded and finished anyway.

Good quality stair treads, very durable as long as you put a few coats of sealant to protect the surface. It made replacing my stairs a breeze.
