The uprights for this shelf unit come in 2 pieces, making it extremely difficult to assemble the unit, even with 2 people. The 2 pieces of the uprights kept disconnecting from the end supports when attempting to add the long side rails to the assembly. Also, the fixed pins on all pieces did not slide easily into their matching slotted holes. They would slide partway in, and then not lock into the hole. It required a lot of beating with a hammer to get all the various pins seated properly in their holes. I have put together a lot of shelving units over the years, and never had this much trouble getting one assembled. I will never buy another one! Don't waste your money on an Edsal shelving unit. If you want one that is sturdy, and easy to assemble, buy a Husky.

It doesn't come complete and the only way to fix it is to return the hole thing to somehow get the brackets that are supposed to come with it in the first place.

The studs would not fit all the way into the keyholes even beating them with a hammer. Shelf was wobbly until I secured it to the wall.

No instructions included. Otherwise once we figured out how to put it together it went ok

The Edsal was well built, but being that it is 72 inches long it should have some kind of support in the middle of the shelves. If you put too much weight on the shelfs they tend to sag.

The shelves themselves are excellent. However they do not contain the END CAPS that were on the shelves in the Home Depot store. I was told by homedepot online and Edsel that they are not required to provide what the store shows. And the Edsel guy who delivered the shelves banged hard into the walls

Online purchase arrived much sooner than anticipated. I did ship to store so there was less of a chance of damages from a ups/fed ex delivery, and there were no issues. It went together very easily (I’ve built a dozen similar to this previously; maybe that helped), and it was everything I expected

Although the packing materials were damaged, the contents were relatively unscathed. Would have preferred some "instructions" on how to put the shelving together - had to obtain some from the Edsal web site.

Sturdy. Just what I wanted for storing all my tools and supplies. I do wish that the joint where the two vertical supports meet (at each corner) were re-inforced, but the joints seem stable enough once the shelves are fully-assembled.

Shelving unit is flimsy and can not compete with Gladiator brand which is far superior.is flimsy

No feet or non marring caps were supplied for the legs. The units did not assemble naturally plumb, level, and square. I would have preferred stronger shelving in a commercial product.

Easy to assemble for 2 people

The written directions were not complete so we had to call customer service. He did explain how to turn three foot legs into a six foot tall unit. However, it was not easy to accomplish. When we finally got it put together, it was a great shelf unit. Seems sturdy and looks good.

Junk. Wouldn’t stay together. And no center brace for shelves. I welded a piece between centers to keep them from spreading out and letting the shelf fall. Might as well build my own for the price I paid.

Everything was fine until I went to stack the vertical supports. There were no connections, and the directions did not address stacking. Made it work, but it was an awkward fix.

Quality frame, but Edsal didn't provide the metal bracing to put two vertical legs together as they used to. The expect you to put the vertical legs together with a horizontal piece. But that doesn't allow that shelf to be in the position that I wanted. How cheap can Edsal get? Also the actual shelf material is of a much cheaper quality than they used to provide. I won't purchase an Edsal shelf anymore.

The shelving unit was flimsy and did not have any support in the center of the long shelves. I purchased a 48" wide from another manufacture that was much sturdier and had better support. This one could not compare as it wobbled as well. I returned it immediately.

I am sure had I ever received this shelving unit it would be fine. I have owned one before. However, the supplier is poor at customer service, follow-up and shipping.

Beware the design places all the weight on the four columns. If you look close the column extend beyond the bottom shelf. This puts all the weight of all your items on the floor at that spot. Thedesign should allow the first shelf to rest on the floor. Like every other vendor I have bought.

The tabs were poorly machined and difficult to get them to slide in easily into the slots even whith a rubber mallet.

I didn't realize until I tried to assemble them that the vertical supports come in two pieces. Since I didn't have help to assemble them, this was a logistical challenge. What saved the day was using quick release clamps to brace the two vertical supports together using a third support aligned with them temporarily. Then I was able to lean the partially assembled frame up against a wall and install the horizontal supports that braced the vertical supports. The I removed the clamps and continued with the assembly. VERY poor design, splitting the vertical supports in two pieces like that. Once they are assembled, the shelves are fine, but they make it WAY more challenging to assemble than they need to.
