The shutters were not completely primered as advertised.

I love these shutters! They are very high quality - you can see that the workmanship is done with a lot of pride and attention to detail. I LOVE that they are made in USA!!!!! They are not some cheapie thrown together item. I must admit, I didn't use them as shutters, I bought them to stain, and to use as doors for a pantry that my husband built in our kitchen. The fact that there are so many sizes available made it easy to find a set that fit perfectly. Thank you for providing a product that is well-made, I was excited that you can still find some high-quality made in USA items!

Nicely made basic shutters. They nicely take primer and paint.

I have already installed 4 pair of these shutters and have found them to be very well made and durable. I apply a latex primer and then 3 coats of the finish color. They are packaged well for shipping and I've never observed any defects.

Required priming and painting. Easy to put up. Although no hardware comes with the shutters.

These shutters were exactly what I needed for an indoor project. Very happy with them!!

Size was correct and finish was acceptable. Got them on time.

Only fair quality. In fact, we had to fill in a place with wood putty and sand before painting because there was a fairly large gouge in the wood. I just did not want to take the time to take it back and reorder. The price that I paid was too high for the quality of shutter I received.

The shutters are very good quality and sturdy. Once primed and painted they came out beautiful. One of the planks was splintered when we got it so we had to sand it and patch it which is the reason for the 4 star instead of 5.

There were gaps in the paint coverage between the louvers and the frame. Some tightening was required to pop the louvers in securely. The instructions didn't clearly explain what kind of hardware was needed to mount the shutters on stucco. We had a heck of a time getting them up, and still need to make some adjustments. The pricing is also excessive.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the paint job on these shutters. There are several unpainted gaps between the louvers and the frame. I'm going to have to do major touch up to work to make them presentable. For the price, I expected better workmanship!

It is hard to find anything made of solid wood in today's world. I remodeled our main bathroom, and decided to use a pair of wood shutters as the door for the linen closet. Ordered a pair of 15" by 48" shutters from Home Depot, stained them Early American Oak, and installed them for the doors. This way the closet can breath, and it adds a flair to the bathroom. These shutters are well made, and will probably last past by life time. Best of all my wife loves them.

I got 3 sets. They seemed well made no defects or damage and that's saying alot for a 50lb package mailed. The touch up paint was a nice bonus.

These shutters looked great in the online images. When we received them, there were a number of scratches and one fairly large chip from the side edge of one of the shutters. Upon closer look at the shutters, there were multiple places where there was exposed area without paint in a joint area -- mainly where the lovers connect in to the main frame of the shutter. Our contractor advised us it is very common for the material to expand and contract, and the shutters were painted at the wrong time in the process (they explained in detail and it made sense...I just don't recall exactly what the explanation was). When paying a premium for a product compared to shutters of the same base material from numerous other potential sources, it was disappointing to receive a product with sub-standard craftsmanship.
