I was so excited to get my new logs hooked up just to find out they were faulty. The pilot would light but the burners wouldn't ignite. Bad valve maybe? Took them straight back to Home Depot and went to a Fireplace retailer close by. New logs from different company worked perfectly. I wouldn't recommend this product . I wasn't going to waste my time giving another set from Home Depot a try. Other cons about this unit are: doesn't set flush to bottom of fireplace box due to remote box being to big, all the batteries to change in a very inconvenient spot on the remote box, more batteries needed for the remote. Instillation was easy but we did have to by an instillation kit to have much shorter connection hose. The pipe that it comes with was way too long for our connection spot.

I was able to install this log set by myself in about 40 minutes. It does come with an aluminum supply line and some crushed stone to provide the look of bunt embers. I prefer the flexible supply line so I purchased one when I bought the unit. I am glad I did as the aluminum supply line was too long and would need to be bent in order to fit. I like the look of the logs and it was relatively easy to figure our how to place the logs correctly, even though the instructions we not the best. Once installed I had to use a separate lighter to light the pilot as the switch plate covered up the igniter button. It also took along time to get the pilot light to stay lit, and the pilot itself was larger than I expected. The switch plate is also so large that the front legs of the log rack can not touch the ground. Once the pilot was lit and the batteries were installed in the remote and the log set, the remote was easy to program and functioned properly. One push to ignite the logs and one push to turn them off. Here is the problem I have with the unit. The odor the logs emit is almost unbearable. I assume there is some kind of oil coating from the manufacturing process or rust preventative applied to preserve the units. I have used the fireplace a few times for about 4 or 5 hour of use and the odor is still present. The second and most disturbing issue I have with this unit is that the unit has turned itself on, on two separate occasions, in the middle of the night. On both occasions I awoke at 3 AM due to the heat and the odor to find the fireplace on. I cant imagine the what would happen if we are away on vacation or for a couple of days over a weekend and the unit were to turn itself on. I will be returning this product and replace it with another brand.

Emberglow 18" Savannah Oak partially met my expectation. I like the arrangement of the log when the flames are at the lowest setting, the flames are too high and there isn't a way to lower the flames to a lower position. Always have to turn gas off because the room becomes overheated too quickly.

I'm sorry but after all the trouble we had getting all the batteries in the remote and the batteries in the starter the remote would blink with the red light on but it wouldn't start the flames. It wouldn't work at all so I had to pack everything back up in the box and take it back to Home Depot.

The pilot light quit and that was it.... returned it. Don't waste your time

We were replacing a set of gas logs. I was pleased with how they look and function. The remote to turn on the logs however does not work well. The button on the side that turns the remote on and off does not work smoothly. overall I am pleased with the logs.

Overall product is as expected, but batteries in main unit are very difficult to install and/or replace. Many small screws are necessary to be removed in a very confined area to install four batteries. This design should be simplified to improve the product sales.

Wonderful price! Great logs!Everything was packaged well with foam and no damage at arrival.As long as you do as instructions require there will be no odor from logs.Instructions require burning on hi for a few hours.I cracked the window in the room logs are located and put a small fan to blow fumes outside.Once you do this and get the new burned off your good to go.

We just received our new gas logs in May so have’nt had a chance to really use them. So far happy.

Great. Best I have ever used. Great!

Mine arrived last week .. install was super easy. Took maybe 30 minutes. I started it, and let it burn for about an hour. Then i disconnected it and let it cool down before trying to re arrange the wood. When I went back to start it, the pilot wouldnt light. I took it apart and found the entire connection between the clicker and the pilot had melted. This is after an hour of use. If I had let the pilot burn and used the remote instead, I would not have noticed this for months. Definitely not a reliable well made product.

the logs look good but the remote sensor was damaged called manufacture and they mailed one out. so far seems to work great

Very proud of my logs and the prompt way they were dent to me...excellent..

Received the gas fireplace on time and was able to assemble it without difficulty. It operated as advertised and we’ve enjoyed the fire. This is our second gas log fireplace and serves a much smaller room than our other gas logs (32”). This 18” serves the smaller room (13’x20’) just right.

Very nice, but a few things I was a little dissatisfied with: - The pilot light flame is too big. Would waste less gas if it were half the size. - The gas hook-up is on the right side. Our hook-up is on the left; therefore, I had to buy one of your 48" gas lines which was YELLOW. I know yellow indicates gas lines, but it would have been nice if only a small portion of it was yellow, and the rest was BLACK. - Lastly, when we first lit the fireplace, our smoke detector went off twice. It made me wonder if Carbon Monoxide was creeping into our home. We do not have a Carbon Monoxide detector. We keep our fireplace flue partially opened because of this. - We LOVE the remote control feature!

The remote only has 1 setting (flame up/down) but it works well and also heats well.

Works well, easy to assemble. Nice Flame, Nice Heat. Difficult to install batteries for the remote operation. (make sure you do this before installing unit in fireplace) Faceplate for switch not designed very well. Dreading the day that I have to replace these batteries. Manual says to make sure in OFF mode during summer to preserve batteries. I feel that the unit could be a little quieter, even pilot on only makes a hissing noise....Perhaps this is normal with all gas fireplace log sets. Overall happy and would recommend.
